Tigers will now have 3 NG on roster with great size that can hold up vs double teams in Alexander, Shelvin, and Livingston.
Don't forget about Chasen Hines. He wants to play defense. He is another 330+ pounder that will provide depth. LSU will FINALLY have depth at NT.
Y'all remember what happened when Ed Alexander went down vs MSU? Gilmore had to play damn near every snap until Ed got healthy and it showed by the end of games

I'm not a huge Orgeron fan by any means but you do realize that the point of this class is to rebuild the depth on the defensive and offensive lines right? They can't all be 5 stars when you're trying to build depth. If you have some illusion in your head that every single class is going to be stacked full of five stars then you're setting yourself up for disappointment. It's a down year for Louisiana in overall talent and that results in lower ranked classes in general. If they finish in the teens in 2019 when it's a huge year for Louisiana talent then we have a problem, but building depth on the lines is a huge need for this team and they are filling them.
This is a very good post. Thank you. Oh, and an upvote for you, too.

Forgot about Hines...thought I was missing someone.
If he sticks at Dline that's 4 deep with great size.
Now we're cooking with peanut oil!

Rosenthal, too. But maybe Livingston committing pushes Rosenthal to OT.

Oh, yea, I agree completely. He's a very athletic and explosive player. I wasn't bashing the kid, just speculating why a competent DC wouldn't recruit him. Obviously, given the fact his offer list isn't impressive, there's a lot of coaches out there who don't see him for the player he is. They see him as nothing more than a space-eater and that's not the type dlneman they are looking for. That being said, there's nothing negative about having a monster in the middle who can only take up space and occupy blockers. Having a guy like that, even though he doesn't make a lot of plays himself, is extremely valuable. I guess only those who've played the position or played on a defense with a player like that can understand it isn't a knock on a player at all and how valuable a player like that can be. Saban had a guy like that on his defense a few years ago. Can't recall the guy's name right off the top of my head, but he was a massive player who just took up space.

Welcome aboard Mr. Livingston!

Terrance Cody, had like 12 solo tackles and 16 assist in 2009, no sacks. Huge monster of a lineman, 6 foot 5 365. More of a space eater, but the value of a player like that goes much further than what stats show.

It's about depth fellas! Let him RS if need be, get in the weight room and shed some of that bad weight, and get coached up! These are the guys that we can rely on to be here 4 or 5 years! Welcome aboard Mr. Livingston!!

The people that have a problem with this are idiots.
Really? What if they sign 25 one-stars? Should we have a problem with that? The truth is this guy is fairly low rated by the services and has a poor offer list. Maybe he’ll develop. But I would feel a lot better if he had offers from Texas and Oklahoma.
I’ll point out that the same could be said of Debo Jones.

All I know is that he was committed to A&M and LSU still pursued the kid. We offered and he decommitted. So between O, Jenkins, Meatball and Aranda they wanted this kid.
That's good enough for me.
I dunno man, I think the guys that dont like the O hire may know a little bit more about recruiting than the guys you listed above.
And this kid will sign with AnM after he realizes Jimbo is the coach. Because Jimbo.

Rosenthal isn't playing NG. Alexander, Shelvin, Livingston, Hines will all likely play nose unless Hines gets moved to offense. Shelvin could be moved around a bit because he's so quick and athletic. Fehoko is stout but a little light at 298 compared to these 330+ kids.
I think Rosenthal be a DE or OT. He reminds me a bit of Marquise Hill.
Every signing day I look for guys 270 and above regardless of position to see how we did in the trenches. This year won't disappoint.
