Sounds like BR is written by your average rantard.

as he has the last 2 or classes. he and haley just weren't getting the job done recruiting our front 7. we are going to have to play some babies in '16.

We're going to be hurting next year with DL and LB depth
No we're not. Are you drunk? We have more depth at LB next year than in the past 10 years. And our defensive line is going to be loaded and deep, also.
LB: Beckwith, Debo, Louis, Riley, Garrett, Alexander, Feist That's a lot of experienced guys.
DL: Clark, Teuhema, Neil, and Bower at DE (Plus two freshmen) and Bain, Lacouture, Gilmore, Godchaux, Valentine, Herron and LMFAO at DT
We're stacked next year. It's 2016 at LB and 2017 at DT we're going to have to manage.

I'm not going to lie, I don't disagree with what they are saying. The lack of DL and LB recruits is unacceptable and it falls purely on the previous defensive staff. Key was a huge get, but we needed to at least have 5 DL and LB in this class and we got 2. I think they did a good job of getting some great guys in the secondary that will compete, but I hope Lewis turns into a safety, because I would like to see some more competition there. We did a great job at OL. That is the best part of this class. We needed OL, because we are going to see an exodus there next year, and instead of waiting until 2016, we loaded up now. That was a fantastic job by the staff. We're going to be hurting next year with DL and LB depth however. I also think we should have gotten a legitimate QB to challenge the guys we have here or at least provide solid depth. We only have 2 QBs, and I don't have much faith in McMillan. Really some huge holes in this class.
But still a really solid job by the staff. Chavis screwed us.
YuuuuuuuuUP.
LB corps will be thin next year. Hope some inexperienced guys can step up and play, but Beckwith should anchor us somewhat. Hopefully CG comes along (and stays) and guys like Duke Riley and Lamar Louis continue to develop into good players.
We've got some youth at DT, but Godchaux and LaCouture got significant PT and Lelaimatafao and Valentine should come in and put in work this year.
We'll be okay, but I agree it would have been nice to see a couple more big guys make it in at those positions.

You are absolutely correct, but I still don't think he has been cleared by the SEC to play.

You think this class should be graded as as a C...or B-?

And this is the reason folks on here don't like Bleacher Report.

Do you know how many gerbils gave their lives to keep this site up and running on this holiest of days?

Last Year's Stats:
LB:
Beckwith: 77 total tackles, 2 sacks, 1 INT, 7.5 TFL, Jr.
Debo: 27 Total Tackles, 0 sacks, 0 INT, 3.5 TFL Year: Sr.
Louis: 29 Total Tackles, 0 sacks, 0 INT, 2.5 TFL Year: Sr.
Riley: 20 Total Tackles, 0 sacks, 0 INT, 0 TFL, Year: Jr.
Garrett: DNP Year: RS Fr.
Alexander: 1 Total Tackle, 0 Sacks, 0 INT, 0 TFL Year: Sph.
Feist: 4 Total Tackle, 0 sacks, 0 INT, 0 TFL Year: Sr.
So next year we are losing 4 players at LB to graduation. We also could lose Beckwith if he leaves early. So after that we have Alexander, Riley, and Garret. Maybe Beckwith if he stays. That's no depth. And that means we're going to have to sign at least 3 LBs next year just to have a two deep. That is a huge problem.
At DE:
Clark: 9 Total Tackles, 0 sacks, 0 INT, 0.5 TFL, Year: Sph
Teuhema: 7 Total Tackles, 2 sacks, 0 INT, 2 TFL, Year: Sph
Neil: 3 Total Tackles, 0 sacks, 0 INT, 1.5 TFL, Year: Sph
Bower: 16 Total Tackles, 0 sacks, 0 INT, 2.5 TFL, Year: Sph
Washington: Incoming
Key: Incoming
That is almost no depth at DE and no experience. That is going to be a huge problem next year, but at least they are young unlike the LBs.
Next year has to be huge at DE and LB or we are in trouble.

I just watched this video
They are only looking at the class only not comparing it to what is going on at LSU and our team.
1) Yes we didn't get a lot of DL and LB but that isn't a huge deal. We have lots of young talent at both of these positions, and the 2016 class is stacked.
2) not a good QB in this class. Ok yeah but that is no big deal, as much as negatigers hate it. I don't think an unproven freshman is our answer this year, we have two young QBs who could be very good. We can be fine if we develop either Harris or Jennings and we will be fine.
3) Our biggest hole to fill was on the O-line and did we fill that hole. That is what makes this class so good.
4) we are reloading in the secondary, we will be scary there.
5) this is not a critical class for us. 2014 was a critical class and we delivered there, 2016 is a critical class.
6) Cam Cameron I think can handle a dual QB but Jennings gave him nothing. I don't think we should judge Cam based on one bad year under Jennings give him time.
So yeah the video was stupid, this was a very good class, and it did't have to be. LSU was young across the board this year, and with a potential top class in the country next season, loaded with much talent, we didn't have to be great this year. Sure it could have looked better but it wasn't as bad as bleacher made it out to be.

According to 247, we are 5th, one point less than 3rd Florida State and 4th Tennessee

We lost 3 DE and added 2. I suppose you could have tried to add another DE to this class but that does nothing for experience as we were pretty much up shite creek for as soon as Hunter decided to go pro. Experience is the issue not depth.

next years class is loaded with LB we will be fine.
Just to name a few
Kelon Joyner OLB #4 national recruit according to 247 sports he is a heavy lean to LSU
Michael Divinity OLB I don't know much about this guy but he is #7 nationally of LB. He is a target for LSU and from LA.
Jeffrey McCulloch OLB 3 star not to sure about this guy
there may be a couple of other LB we bring in. Also we have some DE who could play in the 3-4 defense. I also think Steele is going to probably go after some more LB next year.
We will address the problem and be fine after 2016

There is a ton of potential on our D line
There is a lot of great DL on our list next season.
Edwin Alexander #10 in the nation 247
Ed Oliver #31 in the nation
Glen Logan 4*
Julian Rochester #17 nationally may be hard to get but he is a target
Rashard Lawrence 4* from LA
Emmit Gooden 4* from TN
Briston Guidry 4* goes to Rummel
There may be other guys we push for but I think we will be fine after the 2016 class comes in.
another thing 6 guys at the DE position is plenty all of who will be here at-least 2 more years. Ok sure they don't have any depth but there is a lot of potential in those players. We will bring in more good DL in 2016 so we will be fine.

This is why a LB or 2 in this class would've been really helpful.
