Well Baker might just want time to figure things out with UNC having to hire a new coach. Others might be waiting on offers from other schools. Some negotiating NIL deals.

If the school you were committed to has a coaching change, that can cause delays like with the QB from NC.
If you are a good 3 star on the rise or above, then there’s the scarcity argument. Like with the second portal window, the teams that need help at your position will be more willing to pay because there are fewer options available.
