I’d love to get Bru McCoy we don’t have that overpowering type of receiver and that’s what he will be. He’s Austin bound though for sure. He should have just committed to Texas in the first place. Tom Herman has assembled one damn good team in Austin. We will have to play our best game to beat them next year.

Agree...LSU isn't the only school that the rules apply to. If he signed with USC, which it says he did, then he needs to sit out a year. He shouldn't have signed in the early period if he wasn't sure.

Be some funny shite for Herman and UT to get busted for tampering.

So he really is eligible to just transfer there and not have any penalty on sitting out?
Bc everything I’m reading says he has to sit just like the other transfers

Only way he would be able to transfer and not sit is it the NCAA voided his LOI I'm pretty sure. No clue how he has a case that going to Texas is "necessary" over going to USC where he lives.

With the only common denominator of these two situations being they are both American I'm unsure of your point.

Because USC would be the only one punished if he's not made to sit a year. They'd lose their initial counter spot. He shouldn't have signed now he should face the consequences. It would basically signal the beginning of free agency and invalidate all signing days and NLIs.

There are rumors Texas tampered but I'm not sure the NCAA could track it down if they wanted to.

If the NCAA does that, they're giving preferential treatment to a certain university.

Herman's such a sleaze ball. This is what we all get for enabling saban for so long, though...other coaches have no choice but to go low.

My biggest issue is that there's no way Herman and/or UT weren't in contact with McCoy after he signed with USC. If the NCAA makes an exception in this circumstance, they'll be saying it's okay for coaches to continue to recruit prospects after they sign in the future. All of the visits, contact period, content of convo issues that everyone has to abide with during the recruiting process will now be fair game to avoid after a prospect signs with a school. Bad precedent to set.

This transfer stuff could get messy quickly if the NCAA doesn't get a lid on it right from the start.

Agreed, if this happens, then from here on out, signing day won’t mean jack shite.

It’s bad enough kids commit and decommit. Now we’re gling to have to worry about them signing and then saying, nah I’m out of here with no penalty

Our institutions are compromised. As if everyone at the NCAA is a dumbass who can't see all of the crap coming as plain as day. They know what loop holes need to be fixed, yet they wait until there's more outcry to fix them. They do this on purpose.

I'd like to add that we should just take advantage of this now, as well...I don't care if Aubrey Solomon has already signed and then enrolled at Tenn...O needs to get him on the phone, with no restrictions or limitations, and he needs to convince him to drop out and come to LSU ASAP...he won't have to sit out or anything.

There are several OT's and DE's we could do this with right now...we didn't technically miss on anyone back in December, because this thing ain't over!

Will be interesting to see whether the NCAA has ANY spine. Three transfers, three waiver requests.

Bru - Leaves a month after signing, causing USC to lose an allocated scholarship. All because Kliff Kingsbury was offered a job he couldn't refuse. Coordinators leave every year in droves. The NCAA cannot allow the departure of a coordinator to be a valid reason to not abide by the transfer rules.

Justin Fields - Perhaps the most interesting and ballsy one. A Georgia baseball player calls him the "N" word. The school takes swift action and expels the offender. Despite the incident, the Fields allow their daughter to enroll and play sports at the University of Georgia. Now Fields is claiming that because of this incident, he feels threatened at Georgia and needs to go play football at Ohio State University, who is known to have a completely unracist fanbase . This one is clear that the player is transferring because he cannot unseat the incumbent. That is his prerogative so long as he abides by the transfer rule. But Fields is playing the racism card hoping the NCAA is too afraid to fade the PR backlash. The NCAA is in a pickle - because if he does get the waiver, there will be backlash in reverse and there will be droves of players saying "me too" and coming up with racism ruses to have the rules not apply. Will the NCAA create a nightmare in the future to avoid a few criticisms based from the SJWs this off-season?

Tate Martell - This should be the easiest one. Urban retires, so Martell thinks that is mitigating circumstances to have the rules not apply. The reality is, Martell is running away from competition, just like Fields. He doesn't have the ability to claim racism. So he will be stuck. And it will be hysterical if the NCAA denies both him and Fields, which means that Martell otherwise would have been the starter at Ohio State had he not been a chicken.

The Fields one is the biggest WTF. Ohio State can go get fricked for that...total BS, and I don't care what proof there is of anything.

There doesn't seem to be much rule of law being applied in this case or in many other unrelated cases in the country anymore. I long for the day where our guilt subsides and we can just call things like they are again.
