Not saying I disagree completely, but we are tied for the 2nd most natties at the turn of the century. We wet the bed in that regard the 2nd least of anyone.
True and wins debates with fans of other schools. There's no denying the top of the board stats in that regard. However, in discussions like this amongst friends, context and the stories behind those years between titles have to be factored.
Can't expect an outsider to know the ins and outs of our successes and failures and the road taken to get there, as we wouldn't know theirs, but we know. And those that take off the shades every now and again are generally the ones with a more level headed approach, even toeing the line of "Debbie Downer" at times(read the rant on gamedays and the aftermath). Many of us have learned that it's better to be pessimistic and be surprised than optimistic and left disappointed(i still fall victim to this on most fall saturdays).
Our program is like any athlete loaded with potential but just can't quite develop into the elite many feel they are destined to be. Huge flashes of excitement only to be followed by frustration and failure based on unrealistic expectations placed by us. Its quite frustrating. Potential, moreso the expectations garnered because of it, is a bitch. But hey, we aren't Texas proclaiming to be elite with 1 title in over 50 years.

Wtf y’all we need a center. The middle if the o line sucks.

From last year when we were trying to get a DT in the spring portal window, it seems that the NIL bag for quality guys in the Spring increases. My guess is that there is a smaller pool of quality players and more teams are desperate to fill needs. So, by all means, I hope we get these guys but I wonder if their NIL demands will be more than our staff thinks they are worth?

We signed a center from VATech.

Mitchell will be better than Dom, Dom too inconsistent.

It wasn’t Cooley dipshit

You never heard anything because his injury was nothing.

Ole miss just took the ulm safety so that’s a good sign we’re getting Haulcy

LSU wants to play Cooley at nickel. Need a safety still.

Hmm. I’m pretty sure they worked up at back safety this spring? But I know he is versatile

Need both. My only concern then would be the OLine.

Never heard more on the injury of the DL transfer from Texas. Lingering issues may be worth spending the money.
He was still on the sideline later that practice and was fully back on the field the next practice.

not write a dude off yet because he got confused in some new drills
Frick you man. This is the rant. We have a collection of elite coaches in every single sport posting here. Don’t insult them. They’ll stop posting and where will get our expertise?

They need the Houston S. Cooley should only be playing that position if injury. He's not a true S. He thrives more in a nickel position. I hope they put him back to his natural play.

Also, Cooley is a young guy who moved from one school to another and after maybe 2.5 months of being here and learning a new scheme
Nobody is writing him off but saying a dude learning a new position, that didn't look good at any point this spring is your for sure fix at safety is being a bit optimistic.
