Psyched about seeing this guy play at LSU

He's so smoothly athletic that it looks like he's just gliding around out there. Kid definitely has virtually limitless potential.

Does any highlight video have one? According to every HS basketball highlight tape, the only thing college coaches look for is how well a player dunks and blocks shots. That's all you ever see!!!

can't wait to see him play against riverside academy this year

yea, most do.
Simmons' handles look elite for his size though. May not matter if he can't shoot if he can get to the goal at will. Hopefully that translates to the college game too.

He can shoot too dude.. It's one mixtape. He's got about a dozen at least on you tube.
Wouldve probably been the best senior in the nation last year too.

As a coach I love it... he'll have to shoot more at times but when you don't have to, why settle? I'll take his game every day over the equal talent in love with the jumper.

Exactly. He doesn't need to shoot a jumper because he can take on his defender 1 on 1 and win. He'll either take it to the basket or kick it out to an open teammate. His ball handling and passing ability definitely shown in this video.

Ive watched a bunch of his highlights. Coming across a jumpshot is like turning up the holy grail

I never said he can't shoot or should settle for jumpers. Im just curious if he can shoot.
The college game is a lot different then HS. No more undersized white boys with no athleticism. You have to be able to shoot because obviously getting to the rack is not going to be as easy.

I watched him play on tv and he doesn't shoot many jumpers period. He still has a smooth shot from what I've seen.

The team he plays for had 7 d1 players on the team in the same year. He constantly plays top 25 prospects and top 25 teams in the country. Even the white boys are very athletic and most teams have multiple guys 6'9 and up including a few 7 footers

I've only seen him play in person 4-5 times so I am not 100% sure on his jump shot. It's a small sample size. That being said, while he takes very few of them, he shoots them at a very high clip. He's never released a shot that had me worried.
That being said, he's much more likely to drive or make the next pass than take any contested shot (outside of 4-5 foot). It's smart basketball. Trusting teammates.

Seen him play only twice but he was roughly 6/12 on mid-range shot combined. He clearly has the old-school mind-set of closer is better but he as the ability to create and take his on shot anywhere on the floor. Big-time ability for his age. Instant all-SEC at a minimum for his single season in BR. Barring injury that's all we'll get but glad to have him.

That passing kinda reminds me of some dude named Pete.
