Sucks they moved, fans deserve something nice for the prices the bash charges.
They moved because so many of y'all got DUIs trying to get on I-110 after last year's Bash.

I'm serious dude. Everyone I talked to said it sucked. This thing (Bash) is on life support. I hope it fails miserably so the big wigs can realize that selling tickets at $40 a head and still selling the corporate tables for $1500 to $2000 at the Centroplex still makes good money for LSU.
Tell me you realize it's not LSU putting this thing on.

Did Stan Harris direct this train wreck?

I can guarantee you that the dude who cooked that jambalaya was not from Louisiana. It was like rice with a red sauce with cut up sausage.
That's the worst. That's how they make it in Shreveport.

$40 a head should get you well above average if not excellent food, service and anemnities.

Can someone get me in touch with whoever is in charge with the event services there? Concierge? Planner? Whomever?
I could take that over, charge less and provide food quality 3x's better.
Who do I need to talk to? River center? Athletic department? Problem is, some contracts in place are VERY hard to get around. SMG does the river center, only they can provide food their etc.
I would like to steal their contract and whoever does concessions at tiger stadium. I could make it much better. I am licensed under the catering umbrella for alcohol. Anywhere and everywhere. One flat fee, all you can eat or drink. The % commission would be a consideration though. Still, it's no contest.
I need names, I'll figure out the rest. My email is
mdreaux2@gmail.com.

A drumstick, Mac/cheese and crappy jambalaya for $40? How about a choice? Delmonico or ribeye steaks with garlic frys. Broiled or fried seafood trays? Seafood gumbo? Seafood crepes, shrimp & grits, BBQ, pork tenderloins encrusted, unstuffed potatoes, sweet potatoes with praline sauce etc. many many options.

I'm sure you could BET that, but I doubt you can average over 80% from the foul line with a fair sample size. Challenge accepted.

It's put on by the Gridiron Club. Information on-line.
Food was pretty pathetic, but I liked the venue. TV's everywhere so you didn't have to be directly in front of the stage to hear what was going on. Staff I interacted with were helpful and prompt, but I wasn't at a table. I'd return to the venue in a second. And the f 'in BRPD crime-stoppers weren't camped out trying to rid the mean streets of the REAL criminals. Much more convenient (and free) parking and way closer to where many of the GC members live than downtown.
The food, well, it just wasn't good. Sliders, ok, decent choice, and if you lucked into a fresh one, it was passable. Other than that...
And any chef in this town preparing and serving red jambalaya should be flogged.

It wasn't $40 a head.
It used to be $40 a head and you had your choice of about 10+vendors.
It was changed this year because the casino basically gave the gridiron club the room for free.

This X 1000. They serve that crap here in NC. My mission here has been to explain to people that jambalaya is cooked in one pot. If you are putting gravy over rice it's not jambalaya.

seemed like this was really a terrible idea. I get why they moved it, but I don't see how they thought it would work.
Yea, after talking to the people I would usually go and sit at a table with, I wont be back. I missed this year due to work issues, but I doubt im going back if it stays at L'Auberge.
Posted on 2/6/14 at 6:46 am to lsuhunt555
Get used to it. I was told that lsu is trying to move things like the coaches shows and whatnot to the casino.
Posted on 2/6/14 at 6:51 am to bigberg2000
It doesnt matter, if they really didnt have to pay for the space vs dropping 10k at the river center, then this thing is here to stay at L'Auberge...I just wont be there.
