Yes, he most definitely does. If you watch his highlights, the guy takes the snap out of the shotgun most of the time and then he just drops back another 4-5 yds to give himself time to sling it down the field.
The kid has a cannon for sure.

Cooper Bateman is the best qb in the nation IMO. I really hope we lead for him and can hold off U of Washington. He's easily the best qb on our board right now.
After losing out on Max Browne, our top 2 QB's on the board right now are Bateman and Troy Williams. I heard that they turned up the heat on Bateman in the past month. Both Bateman and Williams are visiting for the spring game in a couple of weeks. They both plan on announcing their commitment in the next few months, so it will be interesting to see how it plays out. I know UW is very high on Williams, so if he commits I could see us dropping Bateman since we took 2 QB's last year.

Thanks for the info. Bateman and Barret would be perfect IMO.

I don't think we could pull off Barrett and Bateman. One or the other is more likely. Would love for it to happen but just doubt it does. It's looking more and more like we could swing Barrett/Mitch and I'd be happy with that as well.
I hear Troy Williams may be headed to AZ with Rich Rod.
Hear Bateman could be much more interested in staying home with Utah than I originally gave credit to. Still think he ends up in the SEC but not with us.
Agree Memphis. Our insiders are very close to the vest. As a guy that feens for info and loves to know all I can I don't like it completely but I accept and understand it completely. I do like that they don't sunshine pump. That is a rare commodity in the recruiting business. If those 2 things correlate then I'm perfectly fine with how things stand now. I don't want to be sunshine pumped. Iwant as close to fact and good, strong info as I can get no matter if it's good or bad for us.Too many other teamsites grossly overexaggerate their chances with kids. Some practically think every kid that visits is their's for the taking and are sincerely shocked and suprised when a kid commits elsewhere. It's ridiculous. For all the flack our fanbase gets, in my years of experience in recruiting, we're by far the most cautious and reserved fanbase when it comes to expectations with recruits. We're always expecting the worst to happen. For the most part we're only a cocky, over the top fanbase with LA kids and that's to be expected.

what are you hearing about prevot? he doesn't appear to be enamored with texas. also, we better get an oos commit by 1st week of may or i'll get concerned. we are just about the only elite/major team with even 1 oos.

Last year Avery Johnson(a legacy) was the only OOS recruit LSU had before July. 2012 commits (Scout)
In the 2010 class Trevon Randle was the only OOS recruit LSU had before July. 2010 Scout
In the 2008 class Kellen Theriot was the only OOS recruit LSU had before June. 2008 Scout
In 2007 Steven Ridley (everyone else offered at LB) was the only OOS recruit LSU had befoe May 31st. 2007 Scout
Most of this class will be from Louisiana. The quarterbacks are waiting for the guys ahead of them to commit.
Most of the other OOS guys are national recruits that will probably be late to commit.

I haven't heard anything on Prevot since he decided to slow things down and commit in the fall. About as expected. I don't think he's entirely enamored with Texas like most kids but I do think he has a soft spot for them. Just from the way he talks about them you can tell he grew up a Texas fan but has chosen the business route with his recruitment. I'm not entirely sure who the decision to slow things down favors but I have a sneaky suspiscion it favors TAM. I think it can be looked at both ways with both LSU and Texas.

Didn't Jake Heaps just transfer to UW this year? If so then they are really stocked at qb after bringing in two top 150 guys last year. It's possible that he might not ever get the opportunity to play there. If Mett leaves this year, then Bateman could play as early as next season. We're also a lot closer to utah than alabama or fla although I don't think that will matter very much.

He transferred to Kansas.

Hey lsufanva, why do you think he ends up at an sec school other than us when we have more pressing needs at qb than anyone?

I thought Cyler Miles was the best QB I saw in the various all star games. He already looks like a successful college QB.

My fault. Just saw where Heaps transferred to Kansas.

I agree, Miles definitely looks like a future star. The other guy Lindquist was a stud at all of the camps he attended last year. You have to think that one or the other will be the starter for the next three years.

Just saw that UW will have seven(7) QBs on their roster if they have no attrition this spring

Maybe counting walk-ons. We only have 4 scholarship QBs. Price has the position on lock down for the next two years (I don't see him leaving early), then it's open competition. Both Lindquist and Miles will redshirt barring injuries to Brown and Price.
Right now our depth looks like...
JR - Keith Price
RS FR - Derrick Brown
FR - Jeff Lindquist
FR - Cyler Miles

If only we still had Crowton and his Utah connections...then we could reel this guy in.
