Any insight to when we’ll hear the status of eligibility for some of these guys that we are signing? I’m pumped, but a little concerned with the “what if” these players aren’t eligible.

Luis, Santos, Niang, and Dessert specifically.

They’ll all be eligible.

Eligibility is discriminatory.

If you’re enrolled, you can play.

Sure there are lots of judges in Louisiana to rule in our favor.

We are taking a chance and swinging for the fences. If a few of these turn up ineligible in like August then you all the sudden have a very thin team with a lot of holes. Sometimes you have to take a chance though when replacing an entire roster in year one

As active as Jeff Landry has been in LSU athletics there's no way there wouldn't be some political influence in this sort of thing. Im all for it honestly, frick the haters.

(Yes I'm aware judges in LA are not appointed by the governor. You can't convince me there aren't at least some who would love the opportunity to curry his favor though)

My expectation is that Luis will be ruled ineligible.

Niang is the next most questionable, as he was drafted by the NBA and did play in the summer league for the Cavaliers, but it is unclear if he ever signed a contract with them.

Santos and Dessert have never signed with, played for, or even been drafted by an NBA team. I think their path is pretty clear based on recent history and current rules.
