Perfect Game 9.5 (out of 10) rating

Landon Hodge is a 2025 C/2B with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Agua Dulce, CA who attends Crespi Carmelite. Taller and long frame with an athletic look and lots of room to add strength. A primary catcher, loose hips and very quick feet. Anticipates and replaces the feet with good direction. Really quick transfer and release and feel to put the throws on the right side of the bag. Popped a 1.91 during drills and showed very good 78 mph arm strength. A left-handed hitter, starts with a narrow base using a controlled lift trigger. Rhythm in the hands and a direct/clean path through the zone. Stays behind the ball and has very good timing out front. Very mature approach hitting balls to all fields during batting practice. Handles arms well in game and is quick to the dirt to block. Very good student.

Landon Hodge
2B/C
Graded as a 9.5 (potential top 10 draft pick)

I’d say that’s a damn good commit!

He actually has a cot / bed in his office. In Omaha, he said he never left his hotel room except for games. He had room service brought in while he game planned. As for the West Coast, Jump, from UCLA, has said that out there, no one really "follows" college baseball the way it's followed in the SEC. Especially the Omaha dynamic. "There is nothing remotely similar".

His recruiting classes for the foreseeable future look extremely Louisiana, Texas, and Cali heavy…that’s a recipe for championships imo

This is too jargony for me. Does this mean he can receive a pitch and get it to second base in 1.91 seconds?

Yes but pop times are notoriously unreliable.
