Not Saban completely, but his "casual bumping into" with Sanders at his school, where they have a pic of him standing there talking with him. That's on him.

Then, him getting put up on the jumbotron at the basketball game is a violation as well. Not one that's Saban's fault, but he still could have prevented it

bumped into him enough to tell him how much Alabama wanted him and that Mark Ingram was going pro.

I believe the intent of the rule is really to just say "hello" or some variation thereof.

he gonna be a tree killa.

Proof that Barry Sanders IS God!

And his son does seem to have a lot of his moves. I bet T Boone breaks the bank for him.

Question: If he wasn't Barry Sanders kid, would he be such a coveted recruit? And is he another Bryce Brown midwestern kid playing small school ball?

TIA

But he is and anyone who doesn't think he is very good is a moron. Yes there is lower talent there in his opponents, but he makes em look horrible just like a great talent should. So what his father put education and religion in front of putting him at THUG High somewhere!

Dude is a stud and FASTER than his dad was, IMO. He has "it" and no doubt he starts in college.

I don't care if he was playing against middle school kids. He can play. he understands how to run. He doesn't always try to bounce it outside, he has patiences, and has that next gear to separate.

If we could get him that would rule.

Does anyone remember how good Barry Senior was coming out of high school in I believe, Wichita, Kansas--would he have been considered a five-star recruit? It would be interesting to see how the current Barry Sanders compares to his father.

I'm not sure recruiting was nearly the same industry then... so I dunno if 5 star was even a term used for recruits in the mid 80s

Sanders sat on the bench mostly his first two years of college (behind Thurman Thomas)... when he finally got to play as a junior he had maybe the best season in the history of college football

His 1988 Numbers:
Rushing: 373 rushes, 2,850 yards (7.6 ave), 42 TDs
Passing: 1 of 2 for 17 yards
Receiving: 19 receptions, 106 yards, 0 TDs
Returns: 21 Kick returns, 421 yards, 1TD; 10 punt returns, 94 yards, 1TD

He then went to the NFL where he averaged 1500 yards per year in the regular season over his ten year career... before he abruptly quit in 1999 (apparently sick of the Lions sucking)

Was not a term in the mid 90s. He was not a 5 stars were called Parade All-Americans.

Maybe it is because he did not have the heart of a "lion".

The Mannings went to a school in 2A that played against a lot of teams like Ridgewood that had about 14 players on their team. Newman didn't have many more on their team (had 25 on the team this year).

The Tuition at Newman is right around $20,000 too.

Was determined that it wasn't a violation, because he was never announced, which the rules states you can't before signing a LOI.

Yeah, small private school league RBs never pan out in college, and have NO business being signed by LSU.
