Do you legitimately think that we won't be able to keep a football player from packing on 40 lbs with 24/7 monitoring of his diet, and strength/conditioning levels?
How much do you think people just naturally grow from the time they are 18 on? I mean, I kind of understood the questions around Dylan Moses when he looked like a college RB as a 14 year old high school freshman, but not this. This is a stupid question

The thing people in this thread seem to be missing re: Gilbert is that, although he is 6'5" ~245-250, he seems to have a little baby fat, still. Moffit will have that gone, and he'll have plenty of room to add another 20-25 lbs of muscle on top. If he finishes his 3 years at LSU at 260 or 265, that's right in line with elite NFL TEs.
Bottom line is that this kid is a freak, and he's gonna get MORE freaky--not less freaky--before he move on.

I know the guy has all world talent and already sits at 6’5 245. Question is he is still an 18-19 year old kid and still growing naturally I’d assume. How do you insure the guy doesn’t get to 275- 285? Would that be too big at TE? How do you keep a growing young mans weight down within reason to play the position he wants vs becoming a lineman if he gains too much? Do you ask him to stay low on weights and stick with functional methods instead?
I know you can’t do much about Height and he will probably be 6’6 or 6’7 possibly when it’s all said and done.
Y'all are too got damn retarded

Why in the hell would a nutritionist/strength coach bulk Gilbert up to 270-280 anyway? The only guys that gain that much weight is the guys who actually need it for the position they are at. I'd like to see him around the 255-260 range because he is athletic enough to add that and still be a monster. Mark Andrews is another 6'5 255 monster playing for Baltimore.

Would you move Lebron to defensive line? Because that’s the type of athlete we’re talking about with Arik. Some kids are just blessed with talent and are still able to maintain their agility at a bigger size.

Tbh, it's more than just being "athletic enough to add that"--he does have enough athleticism to trade off a little in favor of extra bulk, but more importantly he has the frame to add more. So it's not really a question of where is the proper balance in the trade-off of adding bulk vs. losing athleticism, because his frame dictates that he should be able to add a fair bit of bulk without losing any athleticism at all.

I’m 5’ 6” 265, I’m too big to play TE.

Lebron James real weight is probably 270-275. He moves pretty well.

Again what are u worried about keeping his weight down. It a good thing where he Is at not a bad thing. If it's a bad thing maybe u should go be a coach for Lsu and put in your thoughts?? Put in your 2 cents, sound like a plan bud??

Jesus Christ, the shite people say on this board!

I grew after 18, and so did my wife. Lot’s of people grow after 18.

Use your highly thought of strength and conditioning coach to keep him the ideal weight to utilize his skills the best. So I think your answer is if he is a hard worker who listens to Moffitt that is how we keep his “size” in check

At 6ft8 300lbs cause doubt he could make all the moves at 30 plus catches a season but why does that concern you anyway? Ever thought about applying to be an Lsu coach and give coach Oeaux your 2 cents opinion? I got a tip for ya, Don't be a dumb idiot and post shite like this if u don't know squat about football.
