We have a top level qb. And we suck. If BK wants that elusive national title he’d better figure out a way to keep the Dominick McKinley’s of the state to stay at home.

I was torched for this on another thread...but Kelly must get in the “bidding” war and start winning a few. If you have watched Baylor over the past 3 years you see what a team consisting of 3 and 2* recruits can do ...get beat by superior talent.
We are headed in that direction..

More so than anything... we need to be REALLY concerned with how recruiting is going for 24 and the future....

We saw it full clear when Ed O was the coach. Then again, it was hard to miss and only a select few imbeciles here recognized just how shitty of a head coach he was.

Yes, but I’d be a lot more forgiving of Kelly and his coaches if we were killing it in recruiting.

Then go be a fan of A&M and jerk off over your 5 stars that you will never accomplish more than a 9 win season with.

Tell us how all the 2020-2022 5*s are doing for this season because you do know this season should be lead by those guys?

Last year, Kelly's only full year of recruiting, we had 2 5* 16 4* and 8 3*

By comparison, since everyone is saying we lose all our elite talent to Texas, UT had 4 5* 14 4* and 7 3*. Additionally, every team in the top 10 not Bama, OSU, or UGA had at least 7 3*.

It's a similar scenario with 3* numbers this year thus far, and we have 8 of the top 10 in Louisiana. Last year Curtis and Arch were never coming here. We all know that. So if we remove those two from last year's LA class, we missed on Matthews, Williams, and Holstein. We could have definitely used those defensive guys last night but with how poorly coached the defense looks I don't know if it would have changed things or not. Not to mention we did land comparable talent like Toviano and they were of no help last night.

Acting like Kelly only gets 3* and all LA talent leaves for other teams is just factually wrong. I get we need more high end talent this year in this class, but any recruiting gap we have isn't what caused the result of the game last night.

Great post.

Yall act like there's zero talent on this team and we only have 3* starting.

Meh. I don't see a lot of our starting defenders even making the 2-deep chart elsewhere in the SEC. Perkins, maybe. Outside of him, none of these guys sniff the field anywhere in the SEC outside of USCe, Vandy, Miss State and Ole Miss.

You said Perkins "might" make the 2 deep roster at another SEC school.

don't confuse a player being underutilized with not having talent. Perkins would be starting on basically any SEC team. The talent is there just being mismanaged by us right now. That goes for several guys on defense.

One thing bout all this NIL stuff is just like any business, is it sustainable? I can see a A&M buying a few re recruiting classes but theres gonna be bad investments and some hesitation for future investments at some point. Your gonna have to pick and choose at some point because the prices are going to continue to rise for these so called elite unproven guys. There are no cant misses.

We’re going to be saying this 10 years from now. That’s a school with what? 60-80k students. Quite a few CEOs. Quite a few multi, multi millionaires.

A&M will always be relevant if the current rules about NIL remain in place

True, but frankly, they've got nothing on UT-Austin.

No, but it will be way worse as we are replacing 5* talent with 3* talent in the near future. This is going to get way worse before it gets better, unfortunately.

You must not watch any of the recruits, a few of the so called 3*s are ranked as such because of their height. I rather have 3*s that can actually play than 5*s that look good in pads but play like Jane. I’ve seen 3*s out play 5*s in head to head match ups hell I’ve seen the number 1 LB in the nation get bullied by a 2-3*

What outstanding 5* talent currently on this team is being replaced by a 3* in the near future?

Speak for yourself. Down, perhaps but not out. No team always gets all the good players. No team wins all the championships. It's football, it's entertainment. Try and enjoy the journey.
