Are NFL players allowed to contact recruits?

On or off the record? Lol yes there are rules that prohibit it. You are not allowed to use any persons not on the team or staff of LSU to persuade a recruit in any way. For instance, all the big name people on campus this weekend weren't allowed to take pictures with the recruits because it would be viewed as an NCAA violation. Now, that being said, if the two were to "randomly" meet off campus, at say Texas de Brazil ;), the two could interact, but on campus and campus events is prohibited.

Damn. That’s got to be awesome. We used to workout with a 6-7 time world champion in powerlifting, Jesse Kellum.

Never forget when Mike Stonebreaker walked into the gym for a workout while he was with Notre Dame. Every kid in that gym eyes lit up.

Couldn’t imagine working out with an All Pro NFL player during the summer.

Lattimore is not affiliated with LSU in any way. If Moore was going to OSU it could potentially be an issue.

I remember something about Reggie Bush calling Joe McKnight and trying to get him to USC. Nothing came of it IIRC.

I'm not positive on all the intricacies of the rules, but I'd assume the same on campus and events policy would apply. Back at the HS would be fair game id think.

I seem to remember Reggie not giving much of a frick if the NCAA had rules against certain things or not.
