Unfortunately, Alford stands zero chance of ever seeing a college field. At least there is some hesitation with Winston and the MLB
Where is Winston projected to go? I heard rumors that his draft stock fell some since the fall.

Kiel > Winston. Period. Winston is an amazing athlete, but he's just like any dual threat guy out of high school, raw and unpolished.
He's not a Tebow or a Cam.
How did you come up with that?
The "raw and unpolished" Winston was MVP of the Elite 11. Kiel was at the Elite 11 along with all of the top QBs in the nation.
[link=(Senior stats for both:)]https://espn.go.com/blog/high-school/football/post/_/id/3164/elite-11-tracker-mvp-winston-going-strong[/link]
Their 2011 season stats don't support your view that Kiel is greater than Winston "Period". In fact they had very similar passing stats but Winston's were slightly better. And of course his dreaded running ability was better. All of which was compiled versus Alabama competition compared to Indiana competition. So what do you base that Kiel is clearly better than Winston on? Or that Winston is "raw and unpolished". Your intuition?
Gunner Kiel, 6-3, 215, East (Columbus, Ind.)
Committed to ND
Last Week: 13-of-31 for 179 yards and an interception in a season ending 62-7 loss to Cathedral (Indianapolis, Ind.) , team finished 12-2.
Season Totals: 127-of-237 for 2,474 yards and 28 touchdowns with four interceptions. Rushed for 12 touchdowns.
Jameis Winston, 6-3, 195, Hueytown (Hueytown, Ala.)
Committed to Florida State
Last week: 16-of-23 for 233 yards and three touchdowns passing, rushed for 71 yards and two scores in a 39-13 win over St. Paul's (Mobile, Ala.), team is 13-0.
Season totals: 160-of-238 fro 2,311 yards, 28 touchdowns and four interceptions. Rushed for 1,097 yards and 19 touchdowns.

Agreed. Like Alford a lot.
I think the argument could be made that he's the #1 QB in this class. The kid has springs for legs, a great arm, quick release, good vision in the open field, and the intangibles seem to be there. He's kind of somewhere in between Marcus Vick and RGIII when you watch his film.

I heard mid 3rd round. I think he didn't play in any of the summer leagues and that always takes its toll on scouts

I heard him being interviewed at a batting cage with others around him and he said if the money was a million for pro baseball, he was going baseball. Baseball looks really possible for him.

Exactly why I am not too interested in him. What major top ten school would allow their QB to be a two sport athelete with the potential of pulling the rug out from under you every baseball draft...
oes the name Zach Lee ring a bell.

No. Then again I don't let one shitty player ruin how I evaluate other individuals.
exactly. JJ isn't and never was a true dual threat. He has no vision/ shiftiness/ cutback ability. He also is the worst decision maker i have ever seen with the ball in his hands by holding on to it way to long. The only thing i see that makes him a dual threat is straight line speed and he takes forever to get there, he has no acceleration or explosion. Don't EVER compare a dual threat to JJ. EVER. Some of the best from the last decade are dual threats, vince young/tebow/cam. Then you have dennis dixon, pat white, thomas, pryor, tyrod taylor, vick, that michigan guy. Hell, relf looks better then JJ as a dual threat. Crowton really screwed the pooch on qb's.
JJ was recruited as a pro style btw.

He can stay wherever he's going.
I wasn't that impressed with the kid in the UA game.
He's a project with a ton of talent. And, he'd be a huge positive for the baseball team if nothing else.
I'd take him in a heartbeat.

I'm pretty sure there is a waiting period, if you dont go in the first, you have to wait 3 years.

Not baseball draft Eligible until his 3rd year genius

They took Landry from us...Let's go get Winston..Extremely athletic and word on the streets says his decision making is one of his strong-points..yeahhhh...
Oh...and he'd be a HUGE addition to the baseball team if he wanted to play.

Funny, b/c last I checked our baseball team is pretty fricken good as well. He wouldn't beat out Mett for the starting spot next year in all honesty

Yeah, and JJ was one of the top performers at the Manning passing academy. Did you watch the All-Star game where he was playing with and against D-1 talent? Dude looked like he didn't know what he was doing. Not saying that he's not going to be a good dual threat guy. Not saying that he won't be the BEST dual threat QB in the country in a few years if he sticks to FSU. But those guys don't make it in the pros or the SEC for a reason. The exceptions are Cam and Tebow. There is nothing this kid has shown me or anyone else to make me believe he is a Cam or a Tebow, thus it makes sense that Kiel will be a better QB on an SEC team and will be a better pro prospect.

When was the last time FSU won a baseball national championship?
When was the last time FSU won a football national championship?
I'm pretty sure LSU has been much more dominant in both recently.

I wouldn't judge a QB based on his play in those all star games. Hell, I remember Russell Shepard had a long TD pass to Dubose (I believe, though Dubose had to wait on the ball a bit) and AJ McCarron looked pretty sub par in his performance.
