What’s the back story on why he wants to come here? Early PT, Cregg, family is here.....? He might be the only Michigan recruit since Barksdale

Wants to play SEC football. Michigan and to a lesser extent Michigan State sort of slow walked him as an in-state guy they figured they could offer at their convenience.

He also became really close friends with Kardell on the camp circuit. He said he really wants to play on a successful line with guys like him.

Dude is massive, unfortunately got up to 390 pounds this season, he needs to lose a lot of weight but he was dominant in camps. Plays RT, but he's a guard for sure.

I hope he can adapt to heat/humidity of the south. It can be overwhelming if you're not use to it

I took a few moments and watched some of his video from a lineman camp. It looked like he was carrying a lot of bad weight but nothing Moffit can't correct. If he's at 390 as mentioned in here, he's likely a red shirt year one but he's got a huge frame. Looks more like a guard to me. He was getting blown up by the faster defenders. A year with Moffit though and he could be a road grating guard.

Well, MI didn't really give him something concrete until we came along. Like another poster said, seems they were slow playing him in-state.

I thought I remember seeing somewhere, and correct me if anyone knows different, he said that he wants something new. Similar to the same thing we hear some LA kids say in that they want to go OOS.

I think our interest came out of other SEC teams radars, namely KY and Bama. When it became clear that he was developed as far as he was, and as strong as he was, we gave an offer pretty quickly (camp offer?). And he responded pretty quickly. Simply of a case of very quickly going from first date, to visit, to offer. I can imagine the quickness of it was interpreted as respect, and he returned it in kind.

I have doubts he'll be an OT. There was a chance in our S&C if he could stay around 310; I think he had enough athleticism for OT (by a narrow margin). OL are hard to project, so we'll see after one summer. Many of these big guys both grow late, and simultaneously grow into themselves. All of a sudden the move better, everything just becomes more natural; S. Charles is an example. Maybe... we'll see. Otherwise, he'll be coming into LSU as a better-than-average technique freshman OG with sophomore level strength. That right there makes a coach drool.

I never heard anything about 390?? He was around 350 during camps. If he stays there I agree that he's a OG all the way but if this guy grows and inch or two more and can lose around 30lbs, he would be a FORCE anywhere on the line. Playing around 315 would be ideal for him. He could obviously move better there plus he would feel a hellava lot stronger and quicker.

I mean he's not even in our SC program yet and he's the strongest OLman in the class or one of them. If he takes to coaching and does what the coaches ask, he's going to be very good, versital player. Actually most of our OLman could play both OT or OG if needed. Some may have to play RT and not LT but could still fill a spot if needed.

Just for the record, I didn't say anything about 390.

I intentionally didn't address it in my post because I haven't seen anything on it and have a hard time believing that. 350? yeah, I could see that. I think he was somewhere close to that on his visit to us.

definitely something that is worth mentioning. He's getting some good coaching too. He's more than just a big body like we see with some OL in HS. Other than QB, the leap from HS to P5 is toughest on OTs, or OL in general; physically and technically. Any 'head start' is valuable. It could be the difference in getting a starter for 1 extra year.

He needs to drop close to 50 pounds. Up to him whether he does it. Same issue Livingston and Shelvin have. By no means do I just consider that a done deal that Moffitt will accomplish (or he would've with Shelvin). Its up to the kid. I do like the commitment though. There is potential there. It's up to Bradford and him alone to make it happen.

He said himself he was 390 not but a month or two ago this season, straight from his mouth.

He was in the 350 range during camps this past summer, supposedly he balloned up pretty quick from that. He was only like 320-330 last year.

Agreed. I have no doubts there will be contact and a workout regimen 'advice' sent his way in the offseason. We'll see what weight he reports at. Like you said, a lot of it will be on him.
