Arizona All-Pac 12 cornerback Tacario Davis has entered the transfer portal, @chris_hummer and I have learned for @247sports.

The 6-foot-4 Davis led the conference with 15 pass break-ups this year.

would think he is following his old head coach, also seems like we may be done at the cb position. focus probably more on DL/DT

Yep and Speights led the PAC 12(rip) in tackles, was ALL PAC 12 - the SEC is a different animal, don’t rock the DB boat.
If you could Downs(Ohio St) is Super
You have to get a Dawg, Duece All ACC, SEC couldn’t hang. You have to get players, they’re at 88. They know what they got to do Trust Them, spring portal is when the shake up will come-

I do think House lined up the defense for failure. Who knows how Speights does with Baker as his LB coach

Speights is gone

However, the other response did have a point.

Duce Chestnut was a slot corner that was asked to do a wild thing against an elite WR, and it ruined his confidence and sent him on a spiral. Then Speights, we asked our LBers to essentially be 8 year NFL vets and read 5 keys each play. A Tampa 2 zone on 3rd and 8 in college is so fricking hard. Most QBs in college are mobile, we had ZERO pass rush…

The more I speak the more I loathe House. He put every player on that defense in a bad and uncomfortable spot. Some guys were just average to below but the coach made them look worse

Can’t knock his performance in the PAC 12, but as we painfully saw last year, doesn’t always translate to SEC talent.

I agree that this is the unknown and part of why I feel bad for Maason. D line in general. Do t think those guys got the LSU standard for coaching during their time here. Shades of Danielle Hunter

I know he’s gone, but I musta read the post wrong “who knows what Baker does with Speights “ I thought he meant he was eligible. But you’re right Baker will have a better D and make the DL pressure the QB, tackle the QB, and take pressure off our DBs. Our DBs were green and young, some playing out of position (Toviano), Opposing QBs had time to go through their WRs routes, run, i know they’re recruited good players but that was a lot of sht on their plate. Milroe, Dart, Jefferson it’s kinda scary for a 18yr old to be thrown in the fire. They will be better w/ Baker & staff(hard to be worse) imho they will be much much better.

Less thinking, more aggression

A simple formula that has typically worked out well at LSU defensively.

House did those players zero favors. Good thing is baker likes to get after the qb and dictate.

Baker's missou defense was 9th in sack rate. Now he does give up some big plays. I'd rather his approach over house's approach any day.

He has a do not contact tag. Sounds like he already know where he headed.

took the words right off of my keyboard....nope, don't need all-acc, or all-pac 12 - if it ain't SEC it's not good enough.

Very few things are more misunderstood by the Rant. Danielle Hunter was well used by LSU, and he played great here. The Rant doesn’t like it because the Rant only knows one thing…SACKS! But the LSU coaches cared more about wins than stats. They played a contain defense and pursued side to side. They dominated all different kinds of offenses - the only defense in America to do that. But the Rant is unhappy because Hunter could have had more sacks…and losses.

Which would explain why we were so good against mobile QBs, correct

I remember for awhile under chavis dual threat QBs struggled against LSU outside of cam Newton

Johnny manziel went 0-2 against us

You do realize that those
conferences send players to the NFL all the time, right? Go look at the NFL draft form the last 5 years. Most of the players come from conferences other than the SEC.

The talent gap isn’t as big as some of you like to pretend. You liked guys like Mekhi Garner, Kyren Lacy, and Jabril Cox, right?

The Louisville / Baltimore Ravens QB went 0-1
