Alfred Blue vs Seastrunk

Having never seen either one of these two guys play high school football, can some of you give me your perspective on why it seems that Blue is a poor consolation prize if LS goes somewhere else? And to that point, why not both?
From a bigger picture standpoint, I would much rather have a kid from Louisiana he is just as close and seems to be coming on strong at the end of the season. Hahnville always produces great teams, the kid wins, etc. etc.
Again, don't know about grades, eligibility, but Alfred Blue sounds like an LSU running back.
Any thopughts on why LS gets so much love on here?

he's really, really fast
in college, gamebreakers are big, if used correctly

This isn't true.

He isn't that fast. He's not elite speed. Even Cobbs has better 100m times.

I started following Lache last year and have seen him play against Plano earlier this year.
He is a really good running back, who if given any kind of crease, can go the distance.
He doesn't need a great big hole, just a small opening, to be running past the opposing team's secondary.
His high school team hardly ever threw the ball but once he gets on a team that can throw the ball, he will be great at running after catching short passes.
I have not seen Blue but from what I have read about him he will fit in well at LSU. Sounds like he runs with a little power and determination.
I understand your comment about getting the kid from home but remember Lache has family ties to Louisiana too. With those ties and a name like Lache, I think of him as a Louisiana kid too. He is close to LSU people and he has an understanding of what LSU is all about.

If you go watch him play you will know he has elite football speed. He isn't real shifty. He doesn't juke defenders. He just gets by them and outruns them to the endzone.

when football turns into running 100m straight line with no one trying to tackle you, then we should recruit Cobbs, but currently Seastrunk has much better football speed.

Cobbs ran faster than a 10.37 100m?

2 words.... Kenny Hilliard

Keiland Williams has great size and straightaway speed, but no elusiveness and poor footwork.
Breakaway speed is nice, but it isn't everything.

I would normally agree with you but not in LS's case

Trindon called and would like to talk about how that is working out.
Seriously, I dont know anything about Lache. But I do hope he can catch, block, get a tough yard if needed, as well as break one.

I know nothing about recruiting so keep that in mind.
It seems to me just from the little I've seen of them that Blue is more the type of back that Miles traditionally likes - a big back with some speed but not blazing speeed. Kind of what I consider a tailback. i.e.: Scott, Hester, Ridley.
Lache Seastrunk seems to be more a traditional halfback - kind of like Harvey Williams, Sammy Martin. I'm not sure we have anyone like that on the roster now except RS if he's going to play a lot of running back.
To that extent, I don't think Blue would be a "consilation prize" at all. I think he would be more of a player that fits what Miles likes to do.

the question is, does he fit what crowton likes to do?
i know blue is very good but it seems like his skill set is roughly the same as ford, ware, hill, hilliard. why do we need another one unless somebody will play a different position.

That's the way I see it also.

I guess it depends on what other needs we have for one of those slots at other positions, what other backs are on the board for that year and might be upcomming in a year or so, what backs are on the roster, etc.
