Im not sure why it matters anyway...we have the best recruiting class in the country and EVERYONE knows it, whether they want to admit it or not! When we get Randle, anyone who argues their class is even close to ours in an ignorant homer

Based on this, you now have 7 open spots for 2009 class

Talk me through the rest, assuming 27 signees on Feb 4

Look at one of my previous posts in this thread for the guys i think are questionable to qualify this year. there were like 5 or 6 so if we take 27 then only 2 have to not make it for our numbers to work. We went from 32 down to 23 just last year

If there are 7 spots open then 18 will have to be made, thats all there is to it.

That's what I'm getting at....there are a significant number of schollies that have to "go away" to make room.

I know there are lots of games to be played to work towards the 85 limit, but we are easily talking about twice as big of a gap for Nicky this year versus last year. I just don't see it working out without Nicky crapping in his lunchbox.

7 isn't correct though
There are 10 I believe and coffee and Andre would make 12. That would leave 13 that would have to be removed. More than last but not by that much.
I imagine some long standing nagging injuries will finally do some players in and they will be placed on medical ships. Some might decide they like UNA and JSU better than they do UA and decide to transfer there or other schools like them

I still think there are going to be some consequences as the numbers will almost surely involve more than a couple "forced" transfers.

Could end up in the media too. I'm not complaining, as this only helps all the other SEC schools recruit against Bama...

I have to disagree
These exact things were said last year and it worked out how saban wanted it to
All these coaches know what's going on, they don't just sign kids blind hoping for the best

We're not talking about one or two more.....looks like quite a few more than last year.

Regardless of the outcome, this issue will be heavily used against Saban.

8 or so left last year so if 5 or 6 more is a lot, then I guess you're are right
Saban has never struggled to recruit though and next year will be like year 8 in the SEC for him. I'm not sure what you expect to happen to the guy

As far as Scholarships go just like in Academics Athletic scholarships are 1 year renewable, you drop below a 3.0 you lose your academic scholarship, you don't perform you lose your athletic scholarship I don't see what the problem is I lost an academic scholarship for dropping to a 2.99 I didn't see a public uproar about it.

yea start cutting kids on scholarship that don't "hack" it and see how well that goes over with HS coaches and players you dipshit
