Back in the day, Saban would show up to a school where he had recruits during a dead period and “bump” into the players while walking the halls and they would be able to speak.

This accidental bumping into players and subsequent conversation wasn’t a violation.

The NCAA had to create a rule against this tactic.

I’m sure it’s just another loophole that Saban has exploited.

No one important will make a big deal about it and it will be gone with the wind.

Saban will get away with it or retire. He will leave all the players who signed holding the bag.

Supposedly the dead period doesnt apply for transfer portal. The dead period for transfer portal is a bit later.

Life should have ONE rule book.

In CFB, there are two. One for Saban and one for everyone else...

I didn't think the dead period applied to transfers.

Alabama is a dirty program. They always have been and always will be. They are untouchable. One set of rules for them. A different set of rules for all others.

But the NCAA used this exact same thing as an excuse to threaten Orgeron and our football program when they were witch hunting Will Wade.
