Dale ALWAYS had us in contention for, and signed a lot of elite players. Even Brady, Trent, and Johnny got really good players here. Talent has never been a problem for LSU basketball, it's always been coaching. Our all-time team could hang with ANYBODY.

I think that's exactly it.
He will come here and be the man immediately.
There are still players in front of him at illinois
One thing about wade is he is great at selling a player.

Too bad Jones did not have to contend with the sanctions he and Brown left for Brady.
True. But even well past the end of the sanctions Brady went from SEC champ and Final Four appearance in 05-06 to returning 4 of LSU main 6 man rotation from the Final Four team in 06-07, being ranked in the preseason top 5, only to finish LAST in the SECW. For as good as the 05-06 season was Brady had an equally as impressive crash and burn the next season. THAT was indicative of Brady's entire tenure. Great highs and great lows without much in between. Jones was consistently average until the very end.
Neither were great. But just like Brady caught too much shite from LSU fans after he was fired the same can probably be said for Jones.

Jones was lazy, entitled and incompetent!
PERIOD!
Dale Brown may have thought he could foist his boy on LSU MBB, just slithering politically!
Bayou people know how to cut off the snake’s head, time to expose and oust Brown’s stupid mafia, he’ll he has Looney-Tunes-Prick-Vitale doing his media bidding, tat tells all right there.....

I used to love little andre stringer. I don't know why.
I remember shavon coleman.
He really did piece together that first year.

Man we were never a contender for guys like this before Wade.
Guys like him didn't really exist before Wade, though.
Edited to add: this isn't to knock Wade at all. The transfer environment with legit contributors changing team is just a new phenomenon.

Bruh, Jones wasn't in the same realm as Brady as a coach. GTFO with that shite. Brady had one or two underperforming years. Jones underperformed EVERY year.

Not a big tattoo guy but that is legit.

The funny thing is that we'll still have a few retards on here wanting to fire him after we lose a couple of SEC games next year.
Nobody said he can’t recruit...some of us retards do actually question what he gets out of all his talent though. Objectivity = retardation on this board.

Sooooo I am an acquaintance of a high profile high school coach in Peoria (just retired). He is also personal trainer to most of the kids in that area to include Mr Miller.
I asked about this rumor and his answer was yep we are just keeping it a secret.
I have no idea if he was bullshitting with me or not. Lol

Would be an enormous addition

He isn't bullshitting.
He's coming.
I'm pretty sure they are working are one more player.

Last night one of the guys in our group me app was asking me what I had heard. He said coach was accusing him of telling me the info and I started the rumor. I was like hell no I just read it on TD.

If we get Adam Miller AND Efton Reid, that takes us from a definite NCAA Tournament appearance to Elite 8 potential just like that.
This team would be nasty and the only concern would be a slight drop off in 3 point shooting

I'm not willing to go that far just yet. Wade would definitely have a lot of piece to work with, but there would be FAR too much unknown to start the season to make that kind of prediction. LSU is literally replacing their entire starting 5 from last season. And that was a starting 5 where 4 of the guys had significant experience playing FOR LSU, not another team. Plus, until we see it on the court questions about the defense remain. That could be particularly important for a team which may not be as efficient on offense next year as they have been.
Going into the 18-19 season you had several new faces. But you also had guys like Waters and Mays from whom you had an idea of what to expect. In 19-20 LSU returned quite a bit of key contributors from the prior season. This year was the same thing. Next year you are having to replace essentially 95% of your production from the prior season. No one knows how that will look. Hell, we probably won't even be able to project a starting 5 until literally the first game of the season.
While likely much more talented, this will be the biggest "unknow" team/season we have had since Wade's first year. History says LSU will be, at least, a top half SEC team. How much better than that (if any) is anyone's guess.

Two guys Im interested to see who Develop our Mwani and Eric
I think both could take a big leap
I expect Eric to get a good bit of minutes off the bench (Saying Adam Miller goes to LSU)
I expect Mwani to compete for a starter I think Mwani could make a huge leap like Days did from Year 1 to Year 2
I expect Reef and Leblanc to be better but I still think they come off the bench

Honestly with the one time transfer rule coming into effect, I think Wade will process anyone he thinks he can upgrade. He hasn't seemed to have a problem with this in the past.
Build the program however you can, if you wanna be a consistent contender.

Obviously Wilkinson is very athletic. He showed moments of being a really good defender and rebounder. Plus, he shot like 80% last year...which means he didn't take bad shots and finished just about everything he had around the rim. He also appeared to be really unselfish and happy to play his role for the team knowing he needs more development. Those are the guys who gradually get better and better because they have the right attitude. IMO, I think he can be a better version of Hyatt and slightly less athletic version of Marlon Taylor. The key for him will be if he can consistently hit the corner 3. If so, he's likely a starter because of everything else he does well.
With Gaines you saw incredible flashes of great court vision, great defense and electric plays. Unfortunately, you also saw a guy who far too often was trying to make the highlight play rather than just the right play. IF he can grow and mature as a player (both mentally and physically) then he has the tools to make the offense dynamic while also being a great defender. Smart was a great guard for LSU, but he was a "scorer" first. That's why you didn't see a lot of the great passes to set up other guys like we saw with Tremont. Gaines is probably a bit more like Tremont in that regard rather than Smart.
If he's trying to lead sportscenter with every single possession than he probably won't play a ton because his game won't be consistent enough. But if he can learn to play with discretion he COULD be the best playmaker on the entire team.

If gaines can ever get a consistent shot i think he will be alright.
I don't think he will ever be a star but he can be a super sub guy
