I have to imagine it would be hard to publicly sign to LSU with Muschamp literally sitting two tables over.

Nothing to be off base about here. I dont have a fricking clue what is going on with this kid at this point. The fact that it has made it this far should tell you this is a clusterfrick and no one knows what is going down.

Honestly, I'm having a hard time coming up with an explanation other than he signed with LSU but didn't want to embarrass Muschamp and wanted to tell him personally afterward. I'm not saying it's likely. I'm just having trouble coming up with another explanation that makes sense as to why they would sign with USC and keep it secret.
The other best explanation is that he signed with UGA. Remember his qb friend and Muschamp's son committed to UGA as a walk-on, which would corroborate the play with my friends statement.
Is there anything else that makes sense?

Thanks for the info. I will admit I was wrong and concede you do have an idea on what is going on here. However, something doesn't fit. Am I missing something because she reportedly works at South Carolina? Forcing her 5 star son to sign with LSU seems like a recipe for her to get fired. Are you sure she works for the school and it is her who is insisting he signs with LSU? Do you see how I think aspects of this story hve to be missing?

As long as they are considered a dependent, yes. Although it is a scholarship it still comes under guidance rules just like financial aid. Five of my seven children finished college, two on academic scholarships and two on athletic scholarships. Children not considered independent until age 23 while under any of the above.
