Louisiana talent is great, but it is clear that Saban is intentionally going after Louisiana recruits because he thinks he still has a presence in this state and he wants to use recruiting as a way to hurt LSU.

Did you ever consider that Saban won a NC with Louisiana talent and sees that as a formula to win at Bama? Im all about F Saban but Im not sure recruiting Louisiana is his way of screwing LSU.

If Luke4LSU is one of my least favorite LSU posters, you are by far and away one of my most favorite, Garmisch.

Well can you blame him for going after great talent? That is what he is supposed to do, right?

Can't blame him for doing his job. I'm pretty sure we still recruit kids out of Mobile and South Alabama...

That being said, I'm all for the harrassing of him when he is here. Don't mess with his car, b/c I'm sure it's a rental. Call him "Midget Man" and throw Purple or Gold paint on him instead.

I dont blame $aban for doing it. shite that what he's supposed to do isn't it?

It's like people bitching about Eli and Payton going out of state. As if they owe LA something. Let him keep trying the Hat will hand him his arse over and over.

I read an article in the New Orleans paper awhile back that talked about how most high school coaches in LA don't like Saban and wouldn't go out of their way to work with him. But then they really like Miles. Hmmmmmmm....

It's not about the coaches, it's about the States and Universities. If Saban was still at LSU, the high school coaches here would love him because they support the state and the state university.

Can't blame him, no, but anyone who thinks Miles and Tiger fans are going to sit idley by and let Saban come in and pick off La.'s best players is delusional. He's our direct competition and we should not wish Bama to have one ounce of success, in bowl games or in OOC games, the SEC be damned.

Of course. I was just saying that there is no reason for him not to try to get the talent out of LA if it is possible.

I think you are getting way ahead of yourself. Bama is NOT in on every top recruit.

Also, why wouldn't LA recruits list Bama as a school of interest???? It is the closest school that can compete with LSU. Would you expect us to compete with Ole Miss or MSU?

Bama is an obvious choice for a nice visit, but the bottom line is that Saban has not been able to recruit a single player that Miles really wants. Facts are facts, and maybe with one exception here or there, that will continue. Miles has essentially punched Saban in the mouth when it comes to signing kids from LA, no matter how hard he continues to go after them. As a matter of fact, I am glad, because the more time he wastes in LA, the more time he is not being productive some where else.

Agreed........Bama needs to falter a bit next year and it will take care of itself.

Without a proven QB.....i see this happening.

Yeah, it's smart and I don't blame him. But, there are plenty of great recruits in Georgia and Florida as well and Saban is not all over those states.

He's got 5 kids from GA so far this year, 2 last year. He got 2 from FL last year and the top ranked player from FL this year. What do you mean he's not all over those states?

quote:

If he had gone to Michigan or something, we wouldn't really care. People point to Spurrier going to South Carolina and Florida people not being that upset. Does anyone really think that South Carolina can compete with Florida over the long haul no matter who the coach is? No.

Honestly, you sound like a scared. If I was a LSU, I would honestly no worry about Saban/Bama recruiting LA. How many times does anyone come to this state and steal a recruit LSU wants? Hardly ever. Sure, Saban or another coach might get lucky, but 95% of the time these kids will go to LSU. Saban isn't an idiot; he's going to recruit the best kids. It's not his fault LA traditionally turns out some great talent. He'd be dumb not to at least try considering he once coached and recruited heavily in the state.

It's been 2 years now. Don't you think it's time to get over Saban going to Bama?
