Perhaps a problem could be solved if the colleges were no longer used as the NFL's minor league system. If a kid coming out of high school is not college material grade-wise, and many are not, why shouldn't there be a league that will accept those particular kids to help them prepare for professional football? Baseball players have that privilege. And there would be no more Jerrell Powe's, Chad Lavallais and Deangelo Benton's. They could get on with their athletic careers and if they're able to get an NFL contract down the road, they can negotiate a caveat that would pay for their college tuition should they go later, when perhaps they're more ready.
