It’s glaringly obvious that despite growing up in South Florida, Surtain’s “hometown” team has been LSU. Naturally, that’s a product of him following his parents, Patrick Surtain Sr. and Michelle Surtain, who grew up in New Orleans and Baton Rouge.

When Surtain refers to the players running out of the tunnel, that’s a statement oft-mentioned by both the prospect and his father when discussing the emotional connection to LSU.

At one point, LSU led for Chatfield before he committed to Ohio State. He de-committed and is now linked to the in-state Gators. being offered by Florida hasn’t deterred Dennis Johnson and Ed Orgeron from continuing to pursue Chatfield, who is expected to make an official visit to LSU in December or January. The Tigers are not out of it with Chatfield just yet.

The same goes for Campbell, Raymond has reconnected with Campbell and is certainly in play to host him for an official visit down the road. Remember that the American Heritage trio of Surtain, Campbell and Chatfield all took an unofficial visit to LSU together in the springtime and Campbell noted that he has legitimate interest in playing for Raymond.
