A Look Ahead: LA 2019 Prospects & More

5* Kardell Thomas - OG
4* Tyrion Davis - RB
3* Thomas Perry - OT
3* Joseph Evans - DT
Offered:
5* Ishmael Sophser - DT
4* Devonta Lee - WR
4* Trey Palmer - WR
4* Derek Stingley - DB
4* John Emery Jr. - RB
4* Donte Starks - ILB
4* Devin Bush - DB
4* Ray Parker - OT
Top 7 (Donte Starks added) in LA are in the 247sports 100. Lots of these guys are on the brink of 5 stardom. Not the typical Class either, lots of beef on the fronts in 2019. Will be interesting to see how many get offers after they are evaluated at camp this summer.
Out of state prospects that are committed include:
4* Maurice Hampton - DB (Also will play Baseball)
2* Quentin Skinner (Long Snapper)

For Louisiana being loaded, there are a lot of out-of-state guys listed in the "high choice" section of the link. There are six 5-stars in the section. I wonder what that means. High choice for LSU or high choice for the players?

The state is top heavy. We will still sign a solid 10 guys from out of state.

Donte Starks (LB) moved back to The Boot.

before it gets mentioned again - would much rather have the 5* and high 4* prospects from The Boot over a state such as Tn that has lower 4* prospects.

Ishmael sopsher is my number 1 priority if I'm O. We all know he loves D Linemen especially someone this talented and from LA. Would be a huge miss if we let this young man go out of state.

So did 247 leave I-10 on their trip to rank players? There aren't 30 players in Louisiana for 2019 better than Dalvin Hutchinson. There just aren't and anyone that saw him play will tell you the same. I'll post his highlights when I get them.

It is still extremely early and there still evaluating a lot of prospects in the 2019 class. They usually have an update shortly after NSD with the next class getting a heavy heavy update.

He transferred from Wossman to WM in March of last year. Raw is all I heard about him after Spring. Raw, but off the charts ceiling. After the film of him at WM comes out, he should move up. Plus after a year plus in WM’s S/C he will just be ridiculous.
I have to get his flash drive and I’ll put together a reel. You’ll see what I’m talking about immediately.

Well I can't blame 247 for not ranking him yet if they don't have up-to-date film on him. That and camps is basically what they use to nationally rank players. Do you know if he has been in the camp circuit? I'm anxious to see his film at WM, I have heard his name a bunch throughout football season.

Saw him play multiple times last year.
He is a definitive 4 star recruit as a defensive tackle without question.
He and Max Hunter both are their best prospects I saw last year. Bolden slipped and looked to have regressed but some WM fans disagree while others agree.
As for Hutchinson he took full advantage of the move to WM and dominated almost the entire year. A few games like the BTW and Zachary game he was having a difficult time against well coached teams with size, but that is because he is still a bit raw right now. He is a great 1 technique tackle, but doesn't have the "gas" or quickness to dominate from the 3 technique. Great run stuffer for sure.
LSU will likely offer.
The Max Hunter kid looks to be a top 10 Cornerback in 2020 after seeing him move to CB. Around 6'0" with great feet and very strong using his arms to jam receivers. Kid has wheels too to stay with receiver deep downfield. Best looking prospect I've seen out of there defensively since Mingo.
The quarterback Kahmann if he continues to progress as fast as he is will be a top 20 pro style QB his senior year. Kid is a great basketball player too for WM and baseball. Sky is the limit for him.
Just my two cents worth. Take it or leave it.
Go tigers.

This class could make or break O. Most people have had the 2019 class circled, and if he can’t lock it down, it will finish him.
