Denton Ryan linebacker Jordan Richmond, Hurst L.D. Bell offensive lineman Kimo Tipoti and Aledo offensive lineman Michael Wilson joined Tyler John Tyler DE Eric Davis in committing on Sunday.

Dallas MN

Their Scout profiles didn't indicate LSU was recruiting these guys hard.

The Denton LB's recruiting was just starting to heat up when he shut it down. He's a Top 10 TX talent.

The Aledo OT was being recruited hard by Tech and A&M. Sherman likes his tackles tall and agile in the 6'6 260 lb area in HS.

Kimo Tipoti is a large guard prospect. 6'4 320. A&M has plenty of tackles on campus and needs more interior lineman and Tipoti was the guy Jim Turner and Mike Sherman targetted and got.

A&M has lacked in recruiting in a lot of areas the last year or two but OL hasn't been one of them

Also, here is the link to TexAgs OOS prospect page. It's the players that A&M is recruiting that aren't Texans

bourque named a&m his leader at the moment on rivals, but i'm sure an LSU offer would change that.

Why anyone would attend Texas A&M is beyond me.

They like Alonzo Williams from Abbeville. He may pull trigger pretty quick

everytime aTm snatches some low 3 star guy from LA, they always at like they came into our house and ripped the only guy we truly wanted. shite gets annoying. i'll never understand why A&M will come to LA to get some 3 star guy when theyll pass 200 TX kids on the way. seems they are over thinking the room

Don't worry to much about it, they do the same thing with Texas kids. It's an inferiority complex issue. When your school is a thinly veiled cult you over compensate.

Solid pick-up, no doubt. But I've been told by 3 of my aggy co-workers that so far the aggy recruiting class this year is "head and shoulders better" than Texas's. I understand drinking the kool-aide but these fools are bathing in it.

I try to avoid that group of "aggy"

we need about 10 more years of winning in a row to reach the same level

I made this point a few days ago, then some poster from Purdue took offense to it. My point was A&M can't even recruit their own area specifically Houston. LSU probably has more top 250 prospects from the Houston area than A&M. A&M gets and will continue to get 2nd to 3rd tier athletes and cannot recruit with LSU or Texas head to head yet. if either Texas or LSU covet a prospect, they win every time at this moment against the Aggies. It takes more than 1 average season in 20 years to do that.

I really hate how you have to literally state everything on these boards. Maybe I will learn once my posts are in the thousands like some other experienced posters.

My unstated point saying they ranked 27 last season was that even with a top 10 class this year, they have 4 more years before they catch Texas's talent level. 1 good year doesn't make a roster. And, if their hope is to build a nice roster, they better be at least average from now on. For instance, a record similar to last years team. Otherwise, they just had 1 average year.

In the past 10 years A&M hasn't recruited consistently with Texas or LSU. This year is starting off differently. A&M has 11 players committed already and we don't care who else has offered them to validate those players. The point is that they are OUR first tier guys. They are our ealry offers and they are jumping on board this year. Unlike last year when our early offer candidates signed else where and we were left looking for 2nd, 3rd, or even lower tier recruits to fill the spots. I am still fine with last years class for A&M on the defensive side of the ball

And A&M is VERY high on Alonzo out of Abbeville. It is believed he would be the 3rd best DE in Texas and could also fit at a FB/TE flex position that Coach Sherman loves but had nobody to fill that role this past season.

I would also like to say that any sane Aggie knows that presently we haven't outrecruited LSU for any Louisiana athlete yet. We came close with Fobbs and LSU never wanted Raven or our other Louisiana players. That could change this year though. Not saying it will. But it's possible we get a player this year from LA that LSU covets

EDIT: 12 players committed

While for LSU that is the case for Louisiana athletes it isn't the case for Texas HS athletes that LSU wants. And A&M wins head to heads with Texas every year. Not as many as they do, but that's changing slowly. Tim Cole and Malcolm Brown will be good indicators of that trend this year as Brandon Alexander was last year

You will not find a single Ag that would trade rosters with Texas. Texas has players that were WAY more highly recruited out of HS but are underachieving. They have SERIOUS question marks at OL, DL, WR, and RB.
