A&M has already cut into our Texas recruiting. That was LSU’s concern in them joining the sec. Texas coming in will significantly impact A&M’s recruiting base more than anything.

It's okay bro we have Blake Baker he's a great Texas recruiter...

Over the whole state it will hurt some. Have to stay strong in Houston and SE TX though.
FTR, LSU has a very strong and healthy presence in Houston.

Yep, Houston and all of east Texas is our best shot to grab kids. Dallas will be almost impossible moving forward. We don’t really spend resources anywhere else in the state.

It was a bigger deal in the Miles era

Ohio state built a powerhouse using Texas talent

The last 3 years are an anomaly. Louisiana, although extremely talented per capita, just doesnt have enough volume of SEC difference makers that can produce 9+ win seasons every year.
LSU wants to be able to win recruiting battles in Texas, Florida and Georgia while locking down Louisiana. That is the winning formula. Cherry picking a few national recruits may now turn into must get several national recruits in order to dominate. This is easier said than done.
Anyone doubting that Texas and OU coming into the SEC will change the recruiting dynamic for LSU is mistaken.
LSU used to be on the far Southwest border of the SEC and had a strategical advantage of not being boxed in. And had talent rich Texas, expecially Houston, right down the road. A&M was winning a few battles each year like it was, especially with Fisher most recently.
Excuses are for losers and LSU must and will adapt but those 2 new powerhouses arriving will present challenges including locking Louisiana players away from the newcomers, gumps and A&M, which is even more negatively affected by this than the Tigers.
Dont have a couple of bad years in a row at their expense......
Winning cures everything.

Excellent post man , seriously. Only thing I can add to that is 2 years ago we lost Northshore School in Houston. We had 2 very pro LSU coaches there. No longer true, each have left for Head coaching jobs @ smaller Texas schools. Last I heard, unsure if still there , they were replaced by Gumps that Sabin had a hand in getting the job. I know we have lots of local Houston TIGAHS on this board, maybe one of y’all can take this info a little further?? Would be appreciated..

I was wondering what happened there, haven’t landed a Northshore kid in a bit.

Texas, A&M & Oklahoma all being in the SEC will actually help LSU recruiting in Texas.

UT , A&M and OU have in the past gotten the best players in Texas and will continue to in the future. I don't see that changing

Bama has hurt LSU’s Texas recruiting efforts as much as A&M and Texas have. Feel like they’ve been plucking the guys who want to get out of state that use to end up at LSU.

I agree with this post but it's also why u schedule to play UCLA or Maryland or Penn State, so kids you have recruited from these areas can have family and friends see them dominate in P&G. It only makes us more alluring to the kids in different parts of the country.

“Win with us or lose to us.”
If we go with that who cares where they’re from.
