We won't have any excuses on this one. All the little things point to us, his family loves us, with a couple of exceptions, we've been at the forefront from the beginning, perception from media is we are the frontrunner and most importantly, NIL won't be an issue with this particular guy. If we get beat, we just got beat. National guy so not a black eye if we miss but it's a good measuring stick. Home/influence, home at heart, and the champs. No more telling battle we'll face all cycle.

I've heard that Texas isn't going to let him leave the state. Should be interesting when we find out who the next D-line coach is.

I have to wonder if we hire Bo Davis from Texas if that swings things in a major way towards us.

Similar to Ricks, he and his family are all about NIL. Should be interesting

I think hiring bo davis would help since Cain is gone and I know davis and Cain were after him the hardest

I saw the interview with him that contained this quote about the schools he was planning on visiting.

He talked a good bit about Texas and his relationships with the coaches there. He didn't mention LSU until the interviewer prodded him about the Tigers, but he was complimentary of the coaches and the program.

He did mention that NIL would be a big factor in his decision. Also suggested that he will likely take it to signing day before committing. I never got the sense he was leaning to LSU, and he laughed off the On3 predictions.

Looks to me like an NIL competition between LSU and Texas, but that's just my perception from the interview

A lot will depend on the D-line hire. LSU will spend but they won't win a NIL battle with Texas. But what if Bo Davis comes home..?

I know it’s probably an unpopular opinion, but I’ll maintain that if money is sole reason for a kid’s decision then I’m perfectly ok “losing” that kid

They would also probably get out bidded for Bo Davis as well. Just saying...

Only reason I say him is because his name is the only one constantly mentioned. I am sure that's the white whale hire.

I used to love recruiting. Now who cares. It’s year to year contracts basically.

Why not save the money and offer him bank his sophomore or junior year to transfer. Odds are most big time recruits don’t make impact as a freshman.

This is what I say to kids like that. Look who Texas or whomever we are competing against, has developed at your position, and what we've done. Are you willing to take less money with a more likely thought that you'd be developed, or do you just want the big money and not get developed at all? If you like both schools, if both schools are in close proximity for your family, if both schools are willing to pay money, why not pick the one who will more than likely get you to the NFL?

I remember the top 10 overall kid that picked his friends at South Carolina over LSU. Now he's transfered to Oregon after barely doing anything for 2 years.
