Totally different situations. The tua thing was out of left field. Everyone has known we'd take another running back. Recruitment of Akers has been ongoing for a long time

If he jumps back on, great. If not, then ok there too.
Battled injuries. Not necessarily the prototype RB at LSU. Maybe he sees that and might look for a better shot at more playing time and an offense with space.

Canada will use multiple RBs together in the backfield and motioning out. Guys like him and Lanard will have a place in this new offense.
