Cam East (OT, n/r, NOLA) - at 6'7", 285 lbs., and an 85" wingspan, this dude has next level measureables, but continues to be evaluated by 'O' & Co. as he is yet to receive an LSU offer. I've read where C. East's athleticism (including his "bend"), footwork, and/or upper-body strength may be aspects of his game still under evaluation. And probably the best point I've read was by thunderbird, when he noted that an in-state school (LSU, in this case) must be 100% certain that a kid is a "take" before offering - or run the risk of burning bridges w/ HS programs by not accepting commitment(s) from previously offered targets.

If the footwork and flexibility check out, the guy is a no brainer.

He's got great size, a good frame, isn't overweight (in the sense that he would have to shed pounds to be a tackle), and has a crazy wingspan.

With our need for OTs, and his measureables I'd lean toward getting him on board, he looks like a project but looks to have the potential to make him worth an offer

Anyway hopefully the camp circuit gets back to normal this year. There was surely a lot of guys who ended up under recruited and missed out on better opportunities without an opportunity to showcase at camps. Sounds like this kid might be a candidate for a glow up.

I’m not sure that’s the case this year with 20 or so offers to instate players. LSU needs to go ahead and offer Cam East

If he only has ratings from 247 and they put him at 88 which is just below a 4 star, I would imagine with more camps and exposure he would be an easy 4 star level talent. That is unless he camps and doesn't perform well so what do I know?

Reminds me of 2010 where they had trai turner and Jonah Austin. Massive o lineman even though they were G and T

Comparing him instate with Emery Jones:
Jones appears to be more of a finisher and 'to the whistle'.

Could be a camp offer after more evaluation as OP quoted

Glad O and Co are focusing heavily on OL this class.

Take them both

Moko is getting CB’s to A&M so if you don’t land him you’ve signed 5 total Olineman in 2 years.

That’s piss poor roster management.

Go heavy on Oline guys this year and with all of the out of state kids on roster trying to leave all the damn time- go heavy on LA kids.

We should sign 5 olineman at a minimum this year and up to 7 or 8 if we get The right guys.

You can’t keep neglecting the trenches

Appears to be in the plan.
Already with 3.
Jones and Agbo are in great shape it seems.
And Im sure well target out of state guys like Armella, Devon Campbell, etc

East has really really bad footwork... and questionable athleticism.

And if you judge by LSU’s recruiting dept.., they’ve been sending out graphics with the whole OL they want and walker
And that’s
Campbell
Agbo
Emery Jones
Bo Bordelon
Lucas Taylor.

If we offer East I’d say it’s after we work him out in camp or watch this fall, and we decide to take 6 OL
