Had a ridiculous junior year, first year starting varsity too.

Interested to see if he has a similar senior year without Bech, if so, no question he should be a 5-star everywhere.

This is amazing. Never thought I’d see the day we have multiple seasons with good QB play and now it’s looking like we have a decade of it to look forward to...

I really don't even put much stock into these recruiting rankings anymore. They seem to adjust their rankings based on sporting politics and popularity of what others think.

But, I won't be mad that one of our own who we've always value is getting more attention nationally.

He should be, and should also end up being a 5 star on 247, by the time he finishes his senior season in high school.

From a pure talent perspective, considering both arm strength and mobility, he may be the best recruit we have ever landed. By the time Walker Howard leaves he will be among the greatest we have ever had.

I'm not saying he will break Burrow's record of 60 TD's. I'm not sure that record gets broken for long time, if at all. Howard's stats will be right up there with the best to play at LSU before all is said and done with his college career.

Howard playing for LSU is also going to open doors for recruits that may not have previously been seriously considering LSU either.

I don’t put a whole lot of stock in them either, just posting an interesting note during a not so interesting part of the recruiting schedule

I think he might end up a top 3 QB across the board. He is very, very good.

Also our best recruiter and clearly not scared of the competition in the QB room.

Kid is going to be a superstar.

I think its safe to say that with Nuss and Howard possibly in the building, LSU doesn't have much of a chance at Arch, which is fine.

Howard looks pretty damn elite to me.

Unless Arch is cool with growing and maturing in a backup role. Not saying that he will be, but that would be our only hope.

I truly think Howard is going to be a top 10 draft pick after his junior year.

I'd say our chance is much less with Eli Holstein instead of Arch in this instance. Remember Eli transferred away from STM, despite his older brother starting a few years there, because he knew he was behind Walker Howard. I think Eli is going to be the toughest pull of the 2 QBs from LA in 2023 class. Not that we land Arch, but Eli already knows what it's like to be behind Walker and probably doesnt want to do that again.

I think there's a better chance we miss on both than land either, but landing either would be a gigantic recruiting win.

We are clearly going all-in on Arch as well.

Nussmeier > Howard > Arch would be the best 3 year stretch of QB recruiting in LSU history I'd guess.

Definitely are not, they are recruiting Eli Holstein very hard as well. I'm just of the notion it's going to be tough to convince the guy who transferred to get away from Walker Howard's shadow will want to get himself in that situation again.

I didn't mean they aren't recruiting others, I guess that came off wrong, my bad. I just meant we really, really, really want Arch and will sign all his friends if that secures him.

ETA:

Ole Miss folks are growing more confident in getting Arch as well, according to some of their boards. Apparently Kiffin has really put in work to get in good graces with the Manning family, who at first didn't like or trust him at all.

Most impressive high school QB I’ve seen since Josh Booty. I know JB was a bit of a clown but his arm talent was thru the roof. Great days ahead for young Mr Howard.

Arch is not as good as Howard, not even close. I might even say Nuss is better than Arch. I know the age difference, but Arch is not yet on the level of these 2.

Being one year behind a guy in HS means you are only going to start for your senior season. How much exposure and game Reps do you get in that situation rather than starting for three years at Zachary?

STM having two top 5 QB’s a year apart is pretty crazy.

It's not unprecedented for a school to attract concurrent multiple elite QBs. (Georgia, OSU, Clemson, OU, Bama, USC, etc). It's time for LSU to have a crack at it.

If you have Nuss, Howard & Manning, go with who you think is the best and let the chips fall where they may (portal). Just get Manning in the pool, even if he'd be behind the 8-ball experience-wise and prematurely transfers. Or maybe he pulls off an Uncle Peyton by stepping in for an injury and never looks back. But you'll never know, if you don't go for it.

Walker will pass the torch on to Arch. Great timing for QB play.

This was kind of my point though, he was going to be stuck behind Walker at STM his whole high school career potentially except his last one. So he transferred to Zachary to get away from it.

To me that says he's also very unlikely to come to the same college as Walker considering he transferred to get out of his shadow in the first place in high school. Being that he'd put himself in likely the exact same situation with only a year separating the 2 of them. Now, things could change some there, especially if say Walker came in, didn't redshirt and started as a freshman or just played enough to not redshirt, then that could at least put 2 years between them in college, however, I'm still not holding my breath there.

2022 is going to be a huge year who starts at QB how it might determine who we get in 2023 QB class, at least in state if we get an in state guy.

Also I'd say Eli would never have had an exposure problem to begin with even if he stayed at STM. He obviously would have had a big senior year and he ALREADY had offers from LSU and UK before he ever started a high school game at Zachary. He wasn't some complete unknown in the recruiting world, certainly wouldnt be with camps, 7 on 7 and whatnot.
