I am making this thread to bump in a couple years. This kid has potential to be super special. Those unfamiliar Carthage is an East Texas power.

Another member of Carthage’s program making plays is 2026 RB KJ Edwards, who has already drawn rave reviews around the program. One source called him the best back that’s played for legendary coach Scott Surratt — as a freshman. Edwards clocked a 11.14 100-meter time and recorded a 21’3? long jump. He’s insanely explosive and has flashed as a runner between the tackles and breaking runs outside. He’s a no-brainer kind of talent.

Can confirm, Carthage is a buzzsaw up there in NE Texas. Some pretty stiff 3A & 4A schools near there.

Eta: 8 State Championships in Football since 2008.

NE Texas? Heck all of Texas. They dominate their competition almost every year. They have a hard time filling a schedule because no one out of their district wants to play them.

Some of the greatest running backs in the history of the game are from East Texas. He has big shoes to fill.

Yes but he was never anything but a Longhorn. We were on him hard when he hit the portal too.

Where you from in the at neck of the woods?

What do you think about Colt Hodges? Sophomore D lineman. #70 I believe. And no, I’m not Mr Hodges or related in anyway. Coached him growing up.
