Will definitely sting. However, this should have been expected. Texas will make it a mission it to back the bank up for 5 Star guys, especially in state.

The Alabama win gives them a recruiting pitch and the recruits are starting to believe in their success for future years.

It's crazy that beating a down alabama team will do that, but that's exactly what will happen.

He seems to really like lsu but it reminds me of some of the commitments they got after the natty year.

It felt really rushed. Honestly taking a look at it you come back after Colin Simmons had just popped to Texas.

Almost makes you think that the staff pushed for him to commit to try to change some of the narrative.

Or a shot across the bow to let Texas know that their offer wasn't good enough.

If you're so quick to flip, why even give the commitment to us a year in advance?

When he committed I assumed it was gonna be a long road against Texas before NSD next year, but it's bizarre that he'd be swayed this quickly.

Are you buying the decommitment part? I don't know that I buy that I am.

Yeah I am skeptical that he is going to decommit this week but really not liking the trajectory of this recruitment right now. Regardless, we were always going to have to recruit him until signing day.

People need to relax. He's 15 months from ESD and is going to enjoy the process, take visits and listen to what people have to say. Until the decommitment happens, I'm not worried, and even then, it's not like it's over.

This is one of the top recruits in the country so even when he's committed somewhere, doesn't mean people are going to stop recruiting him. And as a 16/17 y/o kid, hell yes I'd soak up all the attention too...

Look at Xavier Atkins too - people thought he was gone, Shea/Billy put in picks for him to flip, then all of a sudden he's back onboard + shut his process down in a matter of weeks.

While it was exciting to get his commitment, Texas is going to buy his services much like they did with Colin Simmons. Without NIL regulations for boosters, this isn't stopping anytime soon.

Unless we decide to pony up. I refuse to believe we can’t match on at least some of these guys. I understand worrying about the locker room but it’s a bit demoralizing.
