2024 4* DL Gabriel Reliford made it to campus.

Things appear to be trending in a positive direction per Sonny. Would be a big big time get for the Tigers.

Could very well end up being that top 100 DL we desperately need in this class. Would be huge to land him + it keeps him away from a rival program.

He’s ranked 319 nationally.

On3 has him at 121, which is the most updated rankings team currently. Rivals, ESPN & even 247 to a degree have been really behind this cycle. Hell, rivals still has McBryde as a 3 star and he’s likely to end up a top 5 safety in the country.

You can’t Star gaze on some to fit your narrative, On3 has him ranked Top 100 #13 DL, 247 has him lower.
I just go with whoever ranks LSU recruits and commits higher, it makes me feel better try it. Just like Hills is playing way better than McKinley on the same defensive line. Stars don’t mean doo-doo if it’s not backed up on field. Go watch Lafayette play and don’t look at jersey and tell me who the 5* is on the DL

I'm not arguing your point at all or replying to you personally, just making an observation generally using your point.
Rivals also has McKinley just short of top 100(116, 4th in state) which is a complete anamoly and perfectly fits that narrative. Point being, the rankings are facts(as in a tangible point to focus on) that can be interpreted in a myriad of ways based on perspective. No one can definitively say which is correct until hindsight applies. The rankings aren't black and white. They are opinions which as we know go as far as assholes. It's why using them as basis/point of fact for an emotional debate is a useless endeavor. They can be argued against just as vigorously.
If you're going to debate based on an opinion, why wouldn't that opinion be your own? The odds of being correct are about the same. Other side of the coin, why matter of factly debate another's opinion based on an opinion(the rankings). Too much subjectivity involved for "definitives", much less the personal attacks that have been so prevalent on our boards as means of coping.
