The Anderson commit got me looking at the 2022 Louisiana Recruiting page on 247. I have only been following recruiting for a little over a year now, but how many in state recruits does the board think LSU is looking to sign next year? It looks like it could be as many as 12-14 depending on staff analysis. Is that realistic/common?

247 2022 LA Recruits

I would post the screen shots but I haven't been able to figure out how to do that yet.

Our biggest recruits are E. Jones from Catholic-BR and Will Campbell.

We need these big boys

Miles usually had 12-14 in state kids and OOS kids were almost exclusively TX and FL with the occasional random state thrown in. Orgeron wanted to expand to a national recruiting base.

This LA class looks like it could be one of the deepest in recent years

We cannot afford to lose either of them.

I actually think it wouldn't be a bad idea to refocus more strongly on Louisiana this coming year with some of the current program uncertainty.

Big year at CB, WR, RB & OL in state. 2 & 3 of each could push the state number to around 15

I don’t know why Acadiana DE Walter Bob (6’ 4” 250lbs) isn’t on this list. He may have grade issues, idk, but the guy is having an insane year in the states highest classification. Laterrance Welch played last night for the first time all year after an injury and he will be one to watch at CB as well.

Not saying they will even get LSU offers but I know Bob for sure is on the same level as Saivion Jones and playing against much stronger competition in 5A opposed to 3A.

Acadiana held Destrehan to 70 yards total last night

Shazz Preston’s dad is very good friends with WR coach Mickey Joseph. The leaders in his recruitment are LSU and Mississippi State.

Shazz Preston played on my son’s Biddy basketball team a few years ago. He was the best athlete of his age I’ve ever seen. The stuff he would do with the ball and his body control was off the charts.

CSB: He went after a loose ball under the opponents basket. As he was diving to the floor to catch it, he looks up the floor and saw one of his players running free on the break. With his left hand, while falling to the ground he threw a full court lob pass and hit the guy in stride for a lay up. I would kill to have that on film. The whole gym was in stunned silence.

Shazz preston is going to be a player we haven't had in a while

I thought jojo earle would be that player but alabama had other plans

You have to have these types of players to fully exploit defenses

Worth noting that Shazz’s brother plays safety for Mississippi State
