The kid apparently had a heck of game on Friday.
He may be someone to watch for next year's class.

doubtful, we like to go after extremely raw qb prospects

Holstein is an intriguing guy - stats are ridiculous, but when mods go watch him play from the pay sites they simply arent blown away by him really. They say he plays in a very friendly QB offense and while he has great size at 6'5 220ish, he doesnt have a ton of physical talent to go along with it.
Not saying I agree with all that, but that's been the narrative.

I just looked at his 2018 HUDL highlights.
Great size. Does what he is supposed to do against physically inferior competition.
Appears very accurate but OL protection was very good.
Appears to go through basic progressions. Good enough for high school but will have to get much better for CFB, especially for SEC play.
Release seems a little long. Nothing that cannot be corrected with coaching and reps.
Does not show the desire or ability to run. This is probably a concern for college coaches especially in the SEC.
The good news is the kid has a full spring and summer to get bigger, stronger and faster. There is a lot of upside here.
I wonder what his demeanor and leadership qualities are on the sidelines and in the huddle?

Thought I was pretty clear, he has great size but not the actual physical talent that generally comes along with that (does NOT have a huge arm).
Also never really runs the ball at all, so likely isn't much of an athlete.
Pay site mod once again just reconfirmed what he originally saw (I just asked), plays in a friendly offense (dink and dunk), inconsistent down field, should have had a few more TDs than he did in the game the mod saw.

STM every year has qbs put up insane numbers. LF7s junior year at St. Aug they had a kid putting up video game numbers as well.

He will be going to La Tech.

Is this really necessary in a thread about a potential QB recruit? Take your non-sense to the rant.

His backup is better, or will be better...Jamie howards son. I know this sounds stupid, but Howard may beat him out nextbyear, as a sophomore.
As a 7th grader, Howard won camp MVP at Sabans camp...the camp was for 8th graders.
Hes 6 3 ish and very athletic.
And yes, Caleb is very damn good

Yes Lahayette is loaded at QB for the next two years. Holstein, Howard and Delhomes kid are all really good.

Wow, guess I am getting old, I still vividly remember Jamie playing for LSU...
It would be a nice story to see Jamie's kid come to LSU and have the career his Dad didn't really get a chance to have, which was mostly a function of inferior talent around him and poor coaching (e.g. Lynn Amedee continuing to throw the ball at Auburn )

FWIW some posters on the pay boards mentioned him being much better than Holstein even and at least 1 mod agreed and feels like he's potentially LSU material (Where as Caleb isn't).
Also someone mentioned he has 2 sisters, 1 at LSU and another coming to LSU next year.

I heard the same thing from a father of a kid who plays both baseball and football for STM. He said Jamie Howard's kid is the real deal and, by the time he graduates, will be a top recruit out of HS.
