re: 2020 Recruiting Spots (25)

I don’t think Gaye drops but I could see Berry dropping We need all the DLine bodies we can get and Gaye could potentially give the starters a rest for a few snaps here or there in year one.
We don’t need the depth this year, though it’s always welcome. We have Ika, Farrell, Logan, Thomas, Rashard, Fehoko, Shelvin to play three spots that are only all on the field about 40% of the time. The 4th downlineman is the rush end Chaisson.
Fonu, Williams and Gaye (if he sticks) are more about next year when we lose our two best guys. Next year we won’t be able to rely on a thin 2019 class or the great 2020 dline class who will be freshmen.

Berry looks very powerful, but that could be misleading depending on quality of competition. I’ve read that he is very young for his class. If true, that could be a huge factor in how good his prospects are.
We wouldn't take and keep three NTs would we?

By the way, this is not what Vol said. Search his posts.
He said, replace Evans with Johnson and replace Webb for Olujari(sp). This is what he thinks will happen.
Posted on 7/27/19 at 2:13 pm to VolTiger13
Vol, how we looking for Webb? Any surprise prospects?
Posted on 7/27/19 at 2:28 pm to LSUARPN08
At this point we are still over 4 months from early signing.
I’d like if I could choose by those showing interest:
Guillory
Van Pran/Dumervil
Webb
Evans/Johnson
Big surprise
Miss on 2 already commited I won’t name.
That would be our highest rated class ever and fill multiple needs.

Names are starting to funnel down

Not in the least bit mad; not jealous; just incredulous that you guys keep falling for these “insiders”. They all have a track record of being wrong, and their M.O. is to give mostly positive “news”. This is feeding your desire to hear what you want to hear. Voltiger is clever enough not to extend himself too far, like DALSU did. But he’s making things up just the same.
Posted on 7/29/19 at 5:21 pm to chatuey
Yes he did. He replied to a post wth the exact final I posted, except that Vol said switch in Webb and Evans.
Posted on 7/29/19 at 5:32 pm to ConeHawk
I think it's obvious we're going to lose a few guys. With that said, I think we have 5-6 names left:
RB: It's Evans or bust IMO; not a big need this class
WR: Koy Moore; don't see a huge need here either; would rather Ojulari if possible
OL: Dumervil and hopefully 1 more
DL: Guillory
OLB: Webb
Maybe a surprise: Chris Braswell would be all time epic; don't see it happening though

I agree with the rest of your stuff but I'd hate to take no RB. You gotta take one every year, because all it takes is an injury, transfer, or unexpected draft declaration to put us in a tough spot.
Posted on 7/29/19 at 6:13 pm to ConeHawk
I think we get:
Guillory
Webb
Moore
Plus: an O lineman and maybe a RB. If the latter happens we “process” two current commitments.

Penrod is right except he doesn't just "make things up." He actually just takes the information directly from other sites and plays his game of being some "insider" on here.

OL: Dumervil and hopefully 1 more
Shea Dixon was on the radio today with Hannagriff, and he pointed out that there's always some OL kid who was too scrawny as a junior who puts on muscle and really pops up on everyone's radar by dominating during his senior season.
Hopefully, we can identify and recruit that guy, whoever he ends up being, because we need him.

Looking at this list...Our D is set. Nasty. Depth at all positions. Land Guillory and perfect defensive class to add to what we already have.
Special teams. we have cade york. Good enough replacement for Cole Tracy. Won't be as good as Tracy but will work out just fine.
Offense wise. WRs and RBs we are good. Landing one more RB wouldn't hurt but not necessary.
QB and O-line. (only main two areas of concern).
QB, I am hoping one of those 4 listed can develop into a great starting QB.
O-line, I believe we need to land at least 2 more this class especially with the amount of seniors we will have on the o-line this year. Def need to hit on Dumervil and hopefully Van Pran.
Side note: do you know any d-line men that we will have that will switch to o-line?

Just give me any combination of:
Dumervil
Van Pran
Moore
Evans
Guillory
Webb
(As long as one is an OL)

I don't think Chaisson or Philips will be here in 2020.
