Sorry had to change my mind at the last minute.

I’ll take Shammond Cooper - OLB for Illinois

A bit undersized but extremely quick linebacker. I think a year Or two in weight room will do wonders for him.

With the 6th pick of the 2019 RMD... Reda selects....

Quinn Carroll, OT, Notre Dame!!!!

Great looking prospect on the hoof at 6’6 295. Notre Dame seems to do well with these midwestern corn fed boys.

I'll take a gamble that Maurice Hampton CB, LSU will play football and not go pro in baseball right off the bat.

If he makes it to campus you'll look like genius, kid would be ranked so much higher if not for the MLB risk. I wish they wouldn't dock kids that are at risk for different reasons and just rank according to talent

Kid is a Kerryon clone. Auburn's first choice at running back.

I pick Michigan WR Cornelius Johnson. The best and most complete WR Harbaugh has recruited at UM so far

In round 6 Team Fib^2 going to roll with

Isaiah Williams - ATH - Illinois

This dude was a consensus composite top 100 player until he got precipitously dropped in the rankings (-178 spots in one update) with some pretty meh justification.

These were Steve Wiltfong's comments in March:

quote:

Steve Wiltfong, director of recruiting for 247Sports, said Williams is “the most dynamic prospect to come out of St. Louis since Ezekiel Elliott,” referring to the running back who starred at Ohio State and now plays for the Dallas Cowboys. “A rival high school coach said he’s one of the 10 most dynamic athletes in the country,” Wiltfong said.

These were his comments in July/August:

quote:

"From my perspective, here is a young man that lacks the ideal size, when you’re talking NFL quarterbacks, Williams doesn’t fit those measureables,” 247Sports director of recruiting Steve Wiltfong told Illini Inquirer. “He just doesn’t resemble anyone playing on Sunday. He is terrific on film, but the competition isn’t the top of the food chain in his state, and with average testing numbers he doesn’t scream elite prospect. He still has a ranking where we believe he’s a good player, just don’t have him among the nation’s elite prospects.”

He seems to be about 5'10" (though there is some discrepancy between the services) and his footage screams Russell Wilson-esque... It likely is prohibitive to him having NFL success at the QB position, but I could easily see him having a great deal of success in college. Even if he doesn't make it as a QB, a kid with his talent will end up on the field. Thus the quality pickup at ATH.

(Originally had Benhart slotted here... had no idea he got picked up so early... nice find there GCB. He's literally going to bulldoze his way through the B1G West at RT.)

Thanks, Jembeurt

I was really impressed with how quick off the ball he was. He looks explosive.

I was set to take him instead, then realized that I had already taken a RB.

Unless things change, he's going on a Mormon mission after his Freshman season. I believe that is why UW stopped recruiting him. He ties up a scholarship for the incoming class, but can't realistically contribute for 3 years.

From what I heard though, he was the best looking OL in the West for this class during summer camps (although Sean Rhyan didn't participate in them).
