Just came through, Wade grabs another...2019 prospect who is reclassifying to 2018 and enrolling right away.

Is he planning on redshirting?
Or will that decision be made depending on whether they think he can contribute?

Very likely to redshirt because he is injured and dont think he will be 100% for the season.

BOOM!

Whether he plays this year or redshirts, it's a great get.

Maybe it's already been discussed, but why would he reclassify to 2018 if he is hurt and would just redshirt this year anyhow ?

Is it to become familiar with Wade's system?

It was either reclassify or head to a prep school. So better for him to graduate early, get a much better training staff to recuperate with, get in our strength program (which is doing work already) and get a year under his belt in Wade's system

Wade is just on a warpath right now and wants to leave the SEC in his wake

My guess is that it would have something to do with access to LSU’s medical staff and facilities instead of his HS’s.

From what I have gathered in reading other stuff, I believe the main reason is because he was already graduating from h.s.; therefore, if he had not reclassified, he likely would have just done a year at a prep school; so why not go ahead and reclassify. Now he gets into a college training program and has the rehab care of a college staff. Plus he has the added benefit of being around the program, practicing with the team once he is well enough, and learns the system, all which will give him a leg up on incoming 2019 class next year. When you look at it from that perspective, it makes a lot of sense and is a very smart decision for him.

Agreed. I think even if healthy he would still have some much needed development to go through this year and likely would not have made much of an impact on this roster. But getting him in on a redshirt year allows Wade to develop him, make sure he is 100% healthy, and ready to make a big impact next year when the roster is a little more open. It is a win-win situation for everyone.

Eta: But I don't think it is a 100% given that he redshirts. From what I've seen in some other places, I think it will be an end of Fall practice decision based on his health and development.

Time to make the facilities the best in the country. We have to not keep up, but surpass everyone in the country.

He’s ineligible to play HS basketball this year. My guess is that it’s an age reason. If he didn’t reclassify he was going to transfer to a prep school

If we want to keep Wade, we better give him exactly what he wants and when he fricking wants it.
