Baseball America top 100 draft prospects came out today and only Pint and Hess are on the list as recruits.
Poche and Fraley from current team.
I would expect to lose all 4 of those.

It will be interesting to see where slaughter gets picked at. Not sure what his defense is like but he has a serious speed/power combo. Pint is 100% gone but it will be interesting to see if we can get one of Hess, gettys, or Peterson. Gettys seems likely to go pro as well.

2017 Commit Johnny Ray's high school (Quincy, IL - Quincy Notre Dame) recently opened their renovated stadium. Still researching how well he's doing this season but holy shite this is a nice high school baseball stadium:

Apparently we recently picked up another JUCO pitcher commit.
Hunter Kiel from Pensacola State CC in Florida. LINK It's pretty far down the link.
ETA: He's struck out 37 people in 27.1 IP this year. But he's also walked 36. His WHIP is only slightly under 2. He's seemingly got some control issues to work through.

A 6-foot-3, 214-pound right-handed pitcher with a strong, athletic, durable frame. Long arm action with a stab and wrap on the backend into a high-3/4 release, lightning arm speed and some effort. Smooth rhythm, level shoulders, and in-line direction. Overall fairly athletic delivery, yet still raw. Fastball sat 90-96 mph with heavy sink and solid control.

tadelatt... can you tell us how any of these guys are doing this season? I tried to search for some stats, but wasn't able to find much.

I bet they are expecting to lose a lot of the committs to the draft and a few players transfer.

Josh Smith is a great kid from a great family. Kid will compete

Devin Fontenot out of The Woodlands... I played for The Woodlands baseball team during the 2013 State Championship season. The school is in the 6A division and is known for putting out huge baseball prospects. 4 years before I graduated, Jameson Taillon was drafted #2 overall in the draft out of this high school (behind Bryce Harper). The following year, another pitcher was drafted in the 3rd round. My senior year, I had 7 teammates with baseball scholarships (Stanford, Rice, TCU, UofH, 3rd rounder, OU, Texas State). This is a public school. Also, Paul Goldschmidt is an alumni of The Woodlands High School. Happy for this kid.

Sure thing, I will see what I can find, HS sports aren't easy to find stats for

I read that Hess is dominating so far. Went up against another top draft prospect and got a win. He's a huge draft risk along with pint and gettys
One site mocked Todd Peterson in the second round as well.

Averaging 1.5 walks per inning is pretty disturbing

The real question, why don't we recruit 1st baseman

Versatility reasons.

To be fair, we've recruited a few, they usually just turn into busts though.
Kyle Koenemen (short but really kinda projected 1B)
Bryce Adams
Jamie Bruno (short but was pretty much a 1B)
Taylor Davis
Matt Clark was the only good "true" 1st basemen we had under Mainieri.
