St Amant's Blayne Enlow makes the cut
St Amant's Blayne Enlow makes the cut

USA Baseball 18U team cut from 108 prospective players down to a 40 man trial roster. This 40 man team will later be trimmed to 25 before competition starts.
There were 8 LSU commits competing in the Tournament of Stars. Of the 8 competing, only 3 made the 40 man trial roster. Those three were Pitcher Blayne Enlow of St Amant, OF Tanner Allen of Mobile, and 2018 IF Brice Turang.
I will update later with stats from the hitters.

Pretty surprised Storz didn't make the 40 man

Here are the stats as best as I could compile them. The USA Baseball site puts the box scores on Google Drive and that sends my work filters into a shite fit, so there may be errors.
Mason Doolittle - 2-13, .154/.313/.154 3 BB, 7 K, 1 SB
Jacob Pearson - 5-16, .313/.353/.438 1 3B, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 2 K
Tanner Allen - 5-14, .357/.500/.357 2 SB, 4 BB, 3 K, 2 R
Brice Turang - 7-15, .457/.500/.600 1 3B, 1 RBI, 4 SB, 1 BB, 1 K, 5 R
Daniel Cabrera - 4-8, .500/.556/.500 1 SB, 1 BB, 3 K
Nick Storz - 0-4, 1 BB, 3 K
Blayne Enlow's pitching stats (2 appearances):
6 IP, 10 K, .100 BAA, 0 BB., .33 WHIP

Jesus Christ Pearson just puts the ball in play and beats it out. Holy shite ! He could probably seal 30 bases. Hope we can keep P Enlow.

It seams like this class has a lot more pitchers with good control than the past few years. We are in desperate need of guys like Enlow to help soften the blow of losing Lange

Anybody has a perfect game account?

Pearson has unbelievable speed

I told you. Do you have any idea how upset WM coaches were when he quit football as a freshman? Very rarely does the best athlete in the school not play football at WM. Kid could be an amazing...well anything really as far as skill positions.

The first ball hit was a slow grounder but he beat it out with that speed. I watched the third hit three times and I still don't understand how he beat that one out!! That ball was hit pretty hard and the 3rd basebman didn't take his time throwing either.
Amazing speed.
Amazing speed.

Your correct every time Pearson put the ball in play it was routine no bobbles or any delays at all he just beat it out lol I'm amazed .

Imagine a faster Laird who has a lot of pop and by the time he gets to LSU, a much better arm.

2017 OF Commit from Teurlings Nick Webre was Mr Baseball in Louisiana this year.
LINK
We have a lot of talent OF committed for 2017. Pearson, Cabrera, Allen, Webre, Ray. Allen did play 2B in the USA trials in addition to playing in the OF. Ray may be on board as a pitcher. And Cabrera can pitch as well.

I don't know about age, but the article mentioned two juniors that have won the award previously.
ETA: The article only name Zack Von Rosenburg. The other was Austin Nagle.

He was fantastic in the state championship. Some of the plays he made honestly made the difference in the game.
