Paleilei has been offered.
That's great. He must have showed them what they wanted to see at camp in June. His highlight reel impressed me. I have been hearing how Coach Miles wants to have some more speed in the backfield.
247 isn't showing an offer yet. Do you think he'd want to talk with Sonny Shipp or Shea Dixon, their LSU writers, about getting the offer? He has a profile there so they probably would know how to contact him. I will email them & get them to contact him if you think he would want to talk with them about it.

I don't have a Rivals memebership to read it.
They had three free photo galleries and he is in one of them. Here's his picture:
Did he have a good camp?
Here's a Rivals free article on Claude Mathis, Desoto's head coach that hosted the event. It doesn't mention them but this is the guy who coached Jalen Mills and Evan Washington.
DeSoto has been producing some big time D1 guys and will continue to in the future. The Rivals guys credit Coach Mathis with using the school's athletes to build a Football Powerhouse.
You may remember Jalen transfered from a smaller, less successful program. I watched a few of Jalens's games last year and saw he got the benifit of playing for some good coaches. They played mostly one-on-one defense and as the season went along, he gained their trust. At first they had him playing really tight on the receivers all the time. After coaching him for a while they allowed him to take more chances. He's going to be a little raw but he'll be better than he would have been if he hadn't transfered to DeSoto.

The 247 guys feel good enough about Paleilei to do a write up on him.
Free Quick look: 2014 RB Sione Palelei Highlight tape included.
CB,
Not everyone reads this thread. I thought you might want to tell the rest of the board about the article.
Here's the address to put into the "link" box.

While the headline name for 2014 is most certainly St. Augustine running back Leonard Fournette, one of the state's most dynamic, change-of-pace backs appears to be East Ascension rising junior Sione Palelei.
At 5-foot-9, 180 pounds, Palelei broke onto the scene as a sophomore all-purpose back last fall, where he accounted for more than 700 yards and seven touchdowns.
At LSU's first summer session camp in June, Palelei worked out for running backs coach Frank Wilson and stood out from the bunch with his explosiveness in drills.

Added some guys that are camping this week plus a few others.
Found this Free Michael Clark Scout article about 2014 ILB Joe Blue (6' 230).
Free Scout article on Bo Baldwin.
He's a little like Rettig and Jennings from 2013.

Knew Miles Garrett was supposed to be good but didn't know he was interested in LSU until RoyBoy2323 linked the roster for the Rivals Underclassman event in DeSoto.
He was one of several members of the Orangebloods 2014 Lone Star 100 that had no interest in LSU when I started the thread but now do. He may have been the highest ranked one.
Rivals has an interview with him since the DeSoto event. I don't have Rivals, so I haven't seen it. Sorry,
Last week the Texas 247 guys mentioned feeling good about Mack's chances with him. He's not their top DE target for the class but may be in their top three.
I don't really know much about him.
ETA:
Eight of the Lone Star 100 listed LSU in May.
Now there are 15 listing LSU and nine with offers.
#1 Hoza Scott
#2 Nick Harvey
#3 Tony Brown
#4 Myles Garrett
#6 Jerrod Heard
#7 Edward Paris
#9 Darrion Johnson
#11 Varshaun Nixon
#12 Chris Hardeman
#14 Cedric Collins
#15 Zach Whitley
#16 Cameron Hampton
#17 Arrion Springs
#18 Nick Watkins
#20 Brandon Simmons
There's eight more of the top 50 interested too:
#23 Donald Catalon
#24 Keenen Brown
#29 Armanti Foreman
#30 Nick Alexander
#34 Tony Upchurch
#35 Jamal Adams
#46 Edwin Freeman
#47 Cedric Dale
#50 Corey Avery
The LSU coaches have been working their butts off in Texas. I guess I need to add some of these:

So, it's highly possible that LSU could land the #1 recruits for 2014 from 3 of the most talent-rich states in the country (Louisiana, Texas, Florida)? Depends on the source, of course, I'm basing this on the 247 rankings.

It's a long way until 2/01/13 but right now the #1 Texas guy, Hoza Scott, is an A&M lean. You never know but I think LSU gets quite a few of the 2014 Texas guys.
Got to keep our own too. With the class starting this strong, I think other big time guys will follow Daub's lead, at least I hope so.

Yes, and Daub has also done some homeschooling too. Kid is a special one.

This guy looks amazing! Works shotgun mostly, but hits recievers in traffic, moves in the pocket well, has touch on his throws, and can run too!

Haven't heard anything about any quarterbacks there. Just posted in a thread asking about a couple of other guys there. Asked specifically about Regan.

FYI, I've heard from one of our Texas recruiting gurus that he is telling people close to him that LSU has edged to the top.

Daub and Hoza in the same class? My lord. Add in the possibility of maybe Cameron Hampton as well and that just is unfair
