One of our 2014 guys drew praise in this free 247 article: The Texas Showcase Combine article from Jeff Howe

quote:

Arrion Springs, S, San Antonio Roosevelt (2014) Springs (5-11, 190) was recently graded out by 247Sports as a four-star prospect and rightfully so. Springs is one of the top pure safety prospects in Texas in his class, but he's also continually improving his cover skills and shows that he could be capable of being a scheme versatile defensive back at the next level. He recently attended a multi-day camp at Florida and he's also camping at USC and LSU later this summer.

Sounds like he'll be here for the 15th-19th camp too.

Thanks BRUNNIN4. Removed them.

Just posted 2011 video on both DB Laurence (Hootie) Jones from Neville and Jacory Washington of Westlake. They are courtesy of Sonny Shipp from Geaux 247. Enjoy!

2014 CB Chris Hardeman told Eleven Warriors(tOSU recruiting site):

quote:

"I was at LSU the first week of June, but I will be going there again next month. My parents will be coming with me this time because the coaches there want to meet my family."

He was a camper in June. Sounds like his July LSU visit might be an un-oficial, see the whole campus affair with his parents coming. Hope they get a lot of time with Les and Raymond.

You may remember last year when Deion Jones committed to Nebraska, he told NOLA.com:

quote:

"I developed a real good relationship with Coach Raymond. I felt comfortable talking with him. He was real with me. He gave me good advice.

and
quote:

The clincher, Jones said, was when "Coach Raymond assured my dad that they would take care of me and make sure that I go to class, and that he'll take care of me like I'm one of his own. My parents liked what he said.''

The parents of the Texas kids need to feel comfortable with the LSU coaches. Sounds like they should.

One of our 2014 guys, DT Bijhon Jackson of El Dorado, AR is planning to come to the July camp. The Recruiting Guy (Richard Davenport)

quote:

El Dorado 2014 DL Bijhon Jackson, 6-2, 325, 5.1 said he plans to camp at LSU, Ole Miss and Arkansas in July. He has offers from Arkansas and Arkansas State.

Jackson said he doesn’t plan to make a decision until after his junior year, probably next summer.

DT Jacob Rush is a man child. Strong as an ox and has that switch that he turns on between the white lines. Spent all of last year being double and triple teamed every single play.

I have no idea how many they will get but all of these guys, who will be there, are interested in LSU.

Jamal Adams
Nick Alexander
Terrance Alexander
Corey Avery
Drew Barker
Ty Barett
Keenen Brown (LSU June camp)
Cedric Collins
Regan Edwards
Armanti Foreman
D'onta Foreman
Quentin Gibson
Quin Graves
Cameron Hampton
Chris Hardeman
Aaron Sharp
Arrion Springs
Samuel Stewart II
Josh Walker
Aston Walker
Austin Walter
Jacory Washington
Gerald Williams III

These too.
I added the profiles and video for all but a couple of the guys below.

OL Ty Barett,
DE Keyon Brown

QB Brandon Dawkins
DE Myles Garrett
MLB Nick Holman
RB Mikel Horton
FB Mikel Horton
OL Cory Klingler
DT Deshaywn Middleton

Hope the Edwards kid does well.

I think LSU may supplant OU as A&M and UT's biggest OOS competition for the Top Texas kids.

Mike Coppage has a FREE Scout article on 2014 New Iberia CB Daniel Lewis. I added his profile but couldn't find any video.

Here's a taste of the info in Clean's article:

quote:

Lewis (5-11, 185), who enjoyed a stellar season in 2011, has continued to excel during the offseason. He shined at the National Underclassmen Combine Five-Star Showcase a few months ago at Zachary (La.) High School.

As a result of that outing, Lewis was invited to participate in the next rung on the NUC ladder: the Ultimate 100, which was held recently in Dallas.

Lewis proved his worth at the Ultimate 100 - and was subsequently rewarded with an invite to the elite NUC "Top Prospect Camp" in Norman, Oklahoma.

"I'm planning on going to the Top Prospect Camp on July 21st," said Lewis a few days ago at the NISH 7-on-7 Tourney. "I've talked to my parents about going to LSU's July camp, but I don't know because I think it's the same dates as the Top Prospect Camp."

"I like the in-state schools," he said. "LSU, of course. I like what UL (Ragin' Cajuns in nearby Lafayette) is doing with their new coach (Mark Hudspeth). I like Louisiana Tech a lot; also, Alabama, Texas A&M, Ole Miss and Mississippi State."

Sounds like a pretty athletic guy we should keep an eye on. Hope he shines at the Top Prospect Camp on July 21st!

Don't have a site, just extra time due to early retirement.

FREE Michael Clark Scout article on 2014 DT Deshaywn Middleton of Winston Salem, N.C.(Parkland).

Doesn't mention LSU but he does list us on Rivals.

quote:

“I am pretty wide open to all schools,” he said. “I am just looking forward visiting some schools and seeing some games this fall. I also really want to see some campuses and how good the medical programs are, because I want to be a pediatrician.”

quote:

Middleton bench presses 300 pounds, squats 405, and runs the 40-yard dash 5 seconds flat.

Will have to get a little stronger.

Rivals article on the Underclassmen Challenge.

Highlights several of "our guys":

quote:

DE Gerald Willis III, New Orleans (La.) Edna Karr: The younger brother of class of 2012 five-star safety Landon Collins, Willis carries a much different build than his elder sibling, but the attention he is receiving from colleges is very similar. The 6-foot-3, 260-pound Willis recorded 48 tackles, eight sacks and four forced fumbles as a sophomore and has earned scholarship offers from the likes of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, LSU, Miami, Nebraska, TCU and Texas A&M.

quote:

LB Cameron Hampton, Dallas (Tex.) Carter: It has already been a productive summer for the Hampton, and offers have come in from the likes of Clemson, LSU, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M and West Virginia. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound linebacker has turned heads this summer by clocking 40-yard dash times in the 4.5 range. He will welcome a number of the top underclass linebackers in the country to his hometown this weekend.

quote:

CB Chris Hardeman, Houston (Tex.) Alief Taylor: Few in the country can boast an offer list as impressive as Hardeman's. Five of the six BCS Conferences are represented among his 20 scholarship offers, with only the Big East yet to join the group. Speed is the hallmark of Hardeman's game, and he already boasts a 10.5 100 meters time despite having only just completed his sophomore year of high school. The 5-foot-9, 178-pound corner is not the biggest defensive back, but he has no trouble playing physical.

quote:

DE Keyon Brown, Wauchula (Fla.) Hardee: At the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge last month, it was Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton defensive end Carl Lawson who emerged as the most dominant pass rusher from the event. Like Lawson, the 6-foot-2, 230-pound Brown does not have great height, but is explosive off the edge and could prove to be the most difficult to block in Dallas this coming weekend. Offers have already come in for Brown from heavy-hitters like LSU and Miami.

quote:

QB Drew Barker, Burlington (Ky.) Conner: Barker just picked up his sixth offer last month from South Carolina following a workout with Gamecocks' quarterback coach G.A. Mangus. Previous offers had come in from Cincinnati, Illinois, Louisville, Purdue and Western Kentucky. The 6-foot-3, 204-pound Barker has the ideal tools for a pro-style quarterback: he is big, accurate and has clean arm mechanics. He will lead a deep crop of quarterbacks into Dallas this weekend.

2015 RB Jordan Scarlett (University School) has been offered by #bama & #LSU, two offers he's been eager for.
