no doubt about that, I have my doubts about Noil ever playing WR at LSU for that very reason

im a big proponent of putting all ATH on defense. If you arent a prototypical WR then play defense...at lsu, at least

Thats right. Thats what all of these guys are doing right looking at all of their options and then at the end of the day. They will all be tigers with one exception and thats Cam he will be the one we will sweat out to the end... Let these guys enjoy the process

not a racially motivated comment but you don't normally see talented white kids from la. with connections to LSU (parent, sibling at LSU) play around with LSU like quinn is. there is something that is pulling him away from LSU or he would be committed by now. not saying where he will end up but I would have thought he would be right behind clapp in committing
.

I do not think ANY of these recruits are "playing around with LSU", I think since it is almost a YEAR from NSD that they are educating themselves and making sure they make the right decision about a very important decision.

"Not a racially motivated comment".......come on. Then why single him out amongst all of the others who are uncommitted at this time?

I stood next to him Saturday and he is 5'11, believe it or not. Not that it really matters that much. I call BS on the 200 lbs number as well.

Aren't you like 6'5"?

Is it easy to scale players being that tall

Well I can understand what you're saying but Miles likes to put his best on the field and his best were 5'11 and 5'11-6'0 WRs. IMO why go after Noil if you're just going to put him on defense? The guy doesn't even play defense and would have to take time to learn the position. With his speed, vision, and elusiveness, he was tailor made to be a slot guy.

Why take a gift of an offensive weapon, and stick him on defense when he's never even played it?

he's played some and I'd put money on him playing way more his senior year in preparation for college.

but not enough to really be a polished route runner. I just dont want to see another athlete wasted...now if quinn decides to go elsewhere then i would want him at WR but if everyone on our board commits then it may be best for the team

D.J. Chark will be a DB at LSU.

On second thought, D.J. Shark at WR looks like another great find by Miles' staff.

Update on Williams

quote:

Possible Destinations

“He is in good shape academically,” Campbell said. “If he can continue to do what he has done, he should be in position to leave here at Christmastime and enroll (at a four-year school).”

LSU has been the school most closely associated with Williams. He verbaled to LSU on May 15, only to reconsider and de-commit on June 5.

“They are still in the running, but they aren’t showing me much interest,” Williams said of LSU. “They think they will just come in at the end and I will commit. But it doesn’t work like that. It’s a business. When I mean business, you have to work your way in with that player and get to know him and his family and his friends. They haven’t done that yet.”

Other schools that have been involved with Williams include Auburn, Texas A&M, Texas and Alabama. Here were his comments on those schools:

On Auburn -- “That will be one of my official visit schools. Their coaching staff is good and I liked the environment and the way they treated me when I was at their spring game. They treat you like you are one of them.”

I hope we get Quille but he really does seem like your prototypical stud, diva WR. Comes with a lot of good and bad.

Playing games IMO. I think this works in our favor...trying to get others onboard. Not worried, in the end, Quille will come home...

Given the tight numbers, I actually hope he takes his talents else where. He will be a 1 and done and chances are he won't significantly change the overall fortunes of what ever team he goes to. In other words, will signing DW make Auburn a BCS CG contender? No. A&M and Alabama will be Contenders regardless, I don't think him and him alone would make or break LSU's NC hopes. Last he might have been the difference for us, but I don't see it in 2013. Give me Blacknall, Dupre, Noil and maybe Quinn and call it a day.
