Norvell, Atkins & FSU trying to turn back the hands of Time by cherry-picking LA talent like Bobby Bowden used to do in the 90s. Problem for them is that ‘O’ done already put that fence around LA!

I’m sure they weren’t thrilled with us flipping Kimo from there 2021 class. Add DeMario Tolan and possibly Azareyeh Thomas & Julian Armella to that mix, and you know they gotta be pissed off at ‘O’ and LSU.

You right, I m sure they wish coach Raymond would go somewhere in the PAC 12 because he absolutely chews and spits out all the efforts the Noles and Gators to be honest currently try. Nearly ALL the elite kids from Fla. that Cory singles out, unless fighting the REC, Cory is money.

No doubt about it, Iota, coach CR has been $$ when it comes to cherry-picking DBs from the Sunshine state.

When it comes to recruiters on the LSU staff, I’m never more confident with our chances for a kid than when it’s:

(1) C. Raymond on a DB from TX, FL, LA, or GA

And/Or

(2) M. Joseph on a WR from south LA

And now that we got Daronte Jones as DC (who is a Safety specialist), we should be able to recruit DBs even better. With these two (2) tag-teaming LSU’s recruiting efforts here, Im predicting that we not only hang on to Welch, Rhym & Mathews - but also add two (2) more DBs from the big-time names as follows:

1) Denver Harris,
2) Kamari Wilson,
3) Gentry Williams,
4) Azareyeh Thomas,
5) Austin Ausberry

Lastly, I wholeheartedly believe that Mickey Joseph (with the help of Mason Smith) Will be successful in closing on:

If Title 9 repercussions are mild, as expected, the smart money would be on 3 of those 5. Ausberry is on team, now exactly how he is counted, there are varying opinions. We still trending with Shazz. Not quite done deal.

If it’s one of those 3 that he’s talking about, I’d imagine it’s Harold Perkins.

Ed got the word from 1 recruit this afternoon on where he is committing from what I understand audit has already been made, obviously not gonna give anything away, honestly don’t know when going public. Would think at latest this weekend. Whispers of numerous others getting tired of the process and committing to whomever they choose soon.shite may be about to get real fellows.

I'm just glad they are getting ausberry in this class one way or another.

I like Ausberry a lot, actually. A safety with good coverage skills is a valuable piece to the secondary these days. I think that kid is a great player.

Agreed that we lose at least one (1) to decommitment or Processing. My prediction for the remainder of the 2022 class would then be as follows:

(15) Emery Jones (G/RT)
(16) J’mond Tapp (WDE)
(17) Kendrick Law (Ath)
(18) Quency Wiggins (SDE)
(19) Shazz Preston (WR)
(20) Harold Perkins (OLB)
(21) Azareyeh Thomas (CB)
(22) Anthony Lucas (DT)
(23) Austin Ausberry (S)
————————————————-
(24) Reserved for transfer (OT)
(25) Reserved for transfer (greatest need)
————————————————
The above finish would result in:
> 16 in-state (LA) kids, and
> 7 out-of-state (OOS) kids
Which is the ratio I believe we end up at/near.

Wouldn't mine closing with that list but once again we are short on OL and particularity Off tackle. I know Will Campbell is elite but why cant we get offensive lineman like some of the other elite programs?

This would be great with the exception of missing out on one of the highly ranked OOS O-linemen.

Completely agree with you guys, just offering my honest, gut reaction. Unfortunately, I don’t have a ton of confidence that we end up signing Julian Armella.

Not sure if it is because he is waiting to announce commitment at All-American bowl in January or what, but I just kinda get a Tristan Leigh feel there (where we wait and wait and wait and end up missing).

Kinda feel like we got better shot with Neto Umeozulu. He’s got family in BR and only took one other visit in June (official to USC). In other words, he made a point to visit LSU b4 reinstatement of the dead period, and he’s talked highly of LSU in last Couple of months. Ultimately, hope I’m wrong and we close on both of these kids….,,,

If not, I do believe we get our 5th O-Lineman for the class out of the portal….

Billy Embody believes we have 0 shot at Neto. Armella is much more likely

Is the “shite” getting real good or bad for us?

This is not accurate. Billy recently stated that the kid plays things very close to the vest and it’s hard to get a read on him, but he’s not stated that we have ‘zero’ chance.

Plus, like I said, Neto made an unofficial visit to Baton Rouge and LSU three (3) weeks ago
