Why do you live in Louisiana?
Because I can strike up conversations with random people, no matter where I am and who they are. You dont realize how used you get to just making small talk in line at the grocery store until you go somewhere else.
Because some people party, we make a holiday out of it.
Because we have the best food in the country.
Its the little things like that.

Posted by ugasickem pretty sensitive group over here. I was asking a serious question. After Katrina, Georgia actually saw a lot of migration to my shithole state from Louisiana.

Escape hurricanes by going to another state in the area that gets hit by hurricanes. What maroons.
It isn't like Georgia is immune to hurricanes or located where hurricanes don't hit.

f you're not on the coast it's not bad. We didn't do anything to prepare other than picking up stuff in the yard and tying a couple things down. About 30 miles from the gulf

Because you won't find another state that has a better blend of Food, Family, Entertainment, Excitement, Carefree, Loving People. We have Great Pride in our State, Families, Schools, Sports teams, and ways of Life. I grew up in between Lake Charles, and Lafayette. Duck hunting the fields near Thornwell. I played High School Football in Welsh, and have been all over the states for both work and play. I am proud of my heritage, and have NO plans on moving. I would rebuild and rebuild again Hoping that my kids can be as fortunate as I was growing up and can appreciate all our great state has to offer.

not every year. And it's not like it floods an entire city if it does.
NOLA is not the whole state.

by asking a question? You may want to re-read my post. Nowhere in it did I say it sucked to live in LA, rather I asked if anyone had actually considered moving because of conditions. And instead of any serious answers (well a few anyways), I get stupid replies like "well because it's not Georgia"

It was a dumb question. Name a place in the country that is immune to natural disasters that anyone would want to live

I give a D for effort in trolling and an F in content because it's a retarded question to ask.

You said seemingly all the time and that Georgia doesn't have hurricanes every year. Made you sound like we have this several times a year and New Orleans is always flooding. Not the case at all. Don't exaggerate if you want to get the answers you want. Be informed.

People gave you several serious answers. I think you had an answer to your question in mind when you started this thread.
I love Louisiana. Rich history. Great food. Great outdoorsman state. And hurricanes aren't what TWC cracks them up to be.

Nice response! See people? You can actually have a decent conversation on this forum without being so goddamn defensive to any member of an opposing fanbase that asks a simple question.

My first response was a serious answer. This thread fails.

I'll take a Hurricane over an earthquake, tornado, and wildfire anyday. Hurricanes we know about days in advance. Yes I'm sitting here in the dark, but I got an ice chest full of beer and a bunch of deer and fish too eat. Gas stove and charcoal pit. Won't be long before bars start opening too. Gotta love NOLA.

Born and raised and family still in Nola. We want to move but my wife and I have good jobs and a child and lots of student loan debt so we can't just leave bc there's a storm in the gulf.

You're right, some people did answer like morons, but what people normally fail to realize is that every section of this country has its own natural disasters. Some are way more destructive than hurricanes too, i.e. wildfires.
Hurricanes just get the media treatment because we can see them coming.
