How long will it be before we stop getting pounded with rain/wind over here? Does anyone know what time this will pass on the Northshore?

EOC Update, 11:30pm: BOIL WATER ADVISORY
(08-29-2012)
The following water systems have experienced problems causing the systems to lose pressure. Because of this problem, the water produced by the water supply systems may be of questionable microbiological quality.   Autumn Lakes The Bluffs Cross Gates Cross Creek French Branch Estates The Landings of Cross Gates Turtle Creek Willow Wood River Oaks Subdivision Alton Water System Ben Thomas Water System   Therefore, as a precaution, Tammany Utilities is issuing a BOIL ADVISORY effective immediately. This BOIL ADVISORY is to remain in effect until rescinded by Tammany Utilities.   It is recommended that all consumers disinfect their water before consuming it (including fountain drinks), making ice, brushing teeth, or using it for food preparation or rinsing of foods by the following means:   Boil water for one (1) full minute in a clean container. The one minute starts after the water has been brought to a rolling boil. (The flat taste can be eliminated by shaking the water in a clean bottle, pouring it from one clean container to another, or by adding a small pinch of salt to each quart of water that is boiled.)
Tammany Utilities will rescind this Boil Advisory upon notification from the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals Office of Public Health that additional water samples collected from our water supply system have shown our water to be safe.

I would think Monday is worst case scenario for that area. Might depend on exactly where you are but I would think spmetime this weekend is a better guess.

Took about two weeks for Katrina. I can wing it but grandmaw and the mrs not so much. Plus worried that I wouldn't have water either since I have a well and septic tank.

Downtown Covington lost power sometime in the night. It didn't seem that bad as far as winds concerned.

I would hope that there are a lot fewer lines to repair. I just cannot imagine (unless you are in a rising water area) populated areas of Covington or Mandeville out past Tuesday.

I will telling you this they are currently evacuating Lee's landing and Traino Landing areas in the East Ponchatoula/Bedico area. Water is across Hwy 22 in Bedico. I have never in my life seen this or heard any of the old timers say this has ever happened.

I saw two trees that took out lines on soult. Actually looked likean easy fix. Both of the trees and hanging over the road so I would think its a high priority. I wouldn't be surprised to see or restored today. There were probably 100 power trucks in Winn Dixies parking lot yesterday

Also, texaco on 59 & Florida, Thai Pepper and the donut shop next door and the honest place by McDonald's on 59 and i12 were all open yesterday around 6pm

Anyone know if the Bocage area between Madisonville and Pontchatula right around the parish border on 22 is okay?

Bedico Trace area is what I'm worried about...just south of hwy 22.

I live in Villages and left ahead of the storm. I've been keeping in touch with my neighbor since yesterday morning. As of midnight, we still had power and no water. Haven't heard this morning yet though. Do you live there?

I cannot recall of anything like that. Not even back in April of '83.
