Thanks stb... Every storm since the early 90's that when power was restored in the 190 corridor we would get ours back six hours later... Well 190 in n. Covington never lost power and worried they'll forget about us on river road.

I'm around 4th st. boat launch at my parents and we have about chest high water all around. Have not driven around old landing today so I'm not sure. I would imagine not that bad if you're not on the water.

According to the USGS gauge, the Tickfaw is within inches of exceeding the historical high water mark (which I think was 1983). My place is going to be ruint.

I was out on hwy.59 at I-12 at 6PM. The Winn-Dixie parking lot is full of bucket trucks and line men. They were just hanging out waiting to get to work.

I'm close to St. Paul's on New Hampshire. Whole neighborhood lost power, but saw that they still have it in downtown Cov. BTW I know you and Tigerstudent08. Played hoops and fball.

Just saw some pics of port Louis, looks like water up to steps but not in condos.

The water has been falling for a couple of hours, so if they didn't have water in the house at 6, they are probably ok.
My boyfriend texted me back saying the water has slightly receded and no water is in the house. I just hope it continues to recede. Doubloon Bayou is a very, very low area and all the houses being on the bayou doesn't help either. His backyard floods during regular summer thunderstorms.
And some of the houses in there aren't raised at all....if I had to live in that area I'd want my house to look like a fricking camp, 20 feet off the ground. Better to be safe than sorry.
