That's something I wish I had bought Monday, along with peanut butter. We do still have some powdered milk. Monday I was still thinking everything would have blown through by Thursday and I would be on my way to Denver, so I really didn't want to fight the crowds at the stores. United Airlines is still confident that MSY will be open Thursday afternoon and we will be on our way, but I am not so sure.

8 AM forecast track now shows the center going near Laffy. That far west just might spare BTR.

I hope so. But not sure Laffy is far enough West to spare us those East Side winds.

The previous track forecast showed the center going through West BR Parish. 50 miles further west over Laffy has GOT to be better for BR, right?

Not necessarily...the east quadrant of the storm always packs more punch.

I'm not sure, Russian. I think that it's better to have the eye pass directly over as opposed to being East of the eye. I'm just not sure how far away from the eye when you're to the East is safe.

This storm looks so huge, I'm thinking you'd want to be at least 100 miles away from they eye on the East, or you will get pummelled.

By no means scientific, mind you.

It looks to me like the worst stuff is farther east .. Almost as if we need this to pass closer to us ..

Kip Holden is on WAFB giving a speech. The dude is decked out from head to toe in a Sherrif's Deputy outfit.

WTF? I don't even.......are you kidding me?

Thanks for that new information.

My point is 10 miles east of the center has to be worse than 60 miles east of the center, unless Rag is correct that the most badass bands are further east.

That was embarrassing. Reminds me of how Hussein, and those mid-east dictators, always decked themselves out in military garb to intimidate their subjects.

Was he standing on a couple of phone books behind that podium?

If only I had known that the east side is the worst half!
